Varanasi Police Launch ‘Police Suraksha Mitra’ Program to Boost Public Participation in Crime Prevention

Varanasi Police has launched a new public safety initiative aimed at strengthening community participation in preventing crime and unlawful activities. Under the “Police Suraksha Mitra” program, citizens can now share information related to suspicious or illegal activities directly with the police in a safe, confidential, and user-friendly manner.
The initiative allows people to report issues such as illegal arms, drug trafficking, liquor smuggling, crimes against women and children, forced religious conversion, human trafficking, and other unlawful activities without revealing their identity. To make the process easier, a dedicated WhatsApp Bot number and QR code have been introduced, enabling citizens to send messages, photos, videos, or voice notes instantly.
Police officials have assured that the identity of informants will remain completely confidential and secure. Every credible input received through this platform will be promptly reviewed, and necessary legal action will be taken by the concerned authorities. Updates regarding action taken will also be shared with the informant through WhatsApp wherever possible.
Through this step, the police administration is appealing to the public to come forward, stay alert, and actively cooperate in maintaining law and order.
The initiative reflects the commitment of Varanasi Police to build a safer, crime-free, and peaceful society with the support of responsible citizens.
