The Varanasi Municipal Corporation has intensified efforts to beautify city parks and conserve ancient ponds and water bodies. On Thursday, Municipal Commissioner Himanshu Nagpal conducted a detailed inspection across several wards to review ongoing development and public facilities.

During the visit, he ordered immediate cleaning of waste and floral offerings from the Pisach Mochan Kund and emphasized the importance of preserving the city’s cultural heritage. He also inspected Pisach Mochan Park, Ram Katora Park, and Buddha Park, directing officials to repair damaged open gym equipment for public use.

The Commissioner reviewed sanitation arrangements using a mobile app to verify staff attendance and found the system satisfactory. He also took strict action against roadside encroachments, imposing a fine of Rs 3,000 on shopkeepers for blocking roads and footpaths, and warned them against future violations.

Officials stated that regular monitoring will continue to ensure better civic amenities and improved urban management in Varanasi.
