Tamil Nadu's Selection Committee has published the marks from Sunday's entrance examination for postgraduate Allied Health Science courses, within hours of candidates sitting the paper in Chennai. Separate lists for seven courses went up on tnmedicalselection.net on 4 October 2026.

The largest list is for the Master of Physiotherapy. The MPT entrance examination marks sheet, scored out of 90, carries 717 candidates. The highest mark on it is 69.30 and the middle of the list sits at about 43.

The other six lists are scored out of 100. The Master of Medical Radiology and Imaging Technology list has 67 candidates with a top score of 92. The Master of Occupational Therapy list has 43 names and a top score of 78, Master of Optometry 21 names with a high of 80, and Master of Medical Laboratory Science 19 names with a high of 74.

The two smallest groups are M.Sc Nuclear Medicine Technology, with five candidates and a top mark of 55, and Masters in Nutrition and Dietetics, with two.

Scores were spread widely. About half the M.MRIT candidates scored 75 or more, the highest middle mark of any list. The middle mark was about 57 in Medical Laboratory Science, 53 in Occupational Therapy and 50 in Optometry. In MPT, scored out of 90, it was about 43, and the lowest mark on that sheet was 14.40.

What the lists show

Each PDF gives a serial number, the exam number, the candidate's name and total marks. None of them gives a rank, a category position or a college. Candidates should not read their position on the sheet as a merit rank, because the lists follow exam numbers, not scores.

The MPT exam numbers run to 800761 while the sheet has 717 entries, so some registered candidates do not appear. The marks files do not explain the gap. Anyone who took the exam and cannot find their exam number should raise it with the Selection Committee at once, before a merit list is built on these marks.

The exam was held at 10:00 AM on 4 October at Dwaraka Doss Goverdhan Doss Vaishnav College in Arumbakkam, as Dalimss reported in the PG Allied Health entrance exam notice story.

What comes next

The marks are a step towards selection, not the end of it. The committee usually follows marks with a merit list and a counselling notice, and those will set the dates for choice filling and document checks. Nothing in Sunday's files announces those dates yet.

Physiotherapy applicants should keep the eligible candidates list issued on 3 October alongside their marks. That list, covered in the Tamil Nadu MPT eligible list report, decides who is in the pool at all, while the marks will decide order within it.

Download the marks PDF for your course from the Selection Committee website and save it with the file date. If the committee issues a corrected sheet, it will appear in the same news section with a new timestamp, and that version will be the one colleges rely on.

Check that the name on the list matches your application exactly. Spelling errors and missing initials are easier to fix before counselling than at a college admission desk. Keep your hall ticket, Aadhaar or Voter ID and degree documents ready, since the counselling stage will ask for originals.

The seven courses lead to different careers. MPT and MOT graduates go into rehabilitation work, M.MRIT and nuclear medicine technology graduates into imaging and diagnostics, and laboratory science, optometry and nutrition graduates into hospital labs, eye care and clinical diet services. Seats in each are limited, so even a mid-table mark can matter in a small course.

Candidates applying for more than one Allied Health course should look at each course list separately. A strong mark in one does not carry over to another, and the committee is treating each programme on its own sheet.
