Shri Kashi Vishwanath to Adorn Unique Forms Every Monday of Sawan
VARANASI, INDIA — Preparations are in full swing across the spiritual capital of Kashi as the holy month of Sawan approaches. This year, millions of pilgrims visiting the world-renowned Shri Kashi Vishwanath Temple will be treated to a extraordinary spiritual experience: Lord Vishwanath will bless devotees in a different, distinct divine form (Shringar) on each Monday (Somwar) of Sawan.
A Unique Avatar Every Monday
The special weekly adornments—crafted using rare flowers, medicinal herbs, bhang, dry fruits, and sacred ornaments—form the spiritual highlight of the Sawan festival at Kashi Vishwanath Dham.
First Monday: Special Anant Swaroop Shringar or traditional Bhasma & Bhang Shringar, symbolizing Lord Shiva in his ascetic and eternal form.
Subsequent Mondays: Adornments representing the Uma-Maheshwar Swaroop, Ardhanarishwar, Jatadhari Shiv, and the grand Shiva-Parvati Vivah representation towards the culmination of Sawan.
Special Aarati: Midnight Maha Aarti rituals will accompany each Monday's unique adornment, accessible to devotees through grand LED screens set up across the temple corridor and ghats.
