Sensation in Varanasi: Brother and Sister Found Dead in Parade Kothi Hotel

VARANASI – Sensation prevailed in the Parade Kothi area under the jurisdiction of Sigra Police Station on Tuesday, after a man and a woman were found dead inside their hotel room. The discovery has sent shockwaves through the local business community and travelers staying near the Cantt Railway Station area.

The Incident The deceased have been identified as Subba (42) and Dhanalakshmi (38), residents of Secunderabad, Andhra Pradesh. According to hotel records and identity documents recovered from the scene, the two were siblings who had arrived in the holy city on February 8 for worship and sightseeing.

The matter came to light when the duo failed to check out on Tuesday morning. After repeated calls to the room went unanswered and the door remained locked from the inside, the hotel management alerted the Sigra Police.

Police and Forensic Investigation Upon receiving the information, DCP Kashi Zone Gaurav Banshwal and other senior officials rushed to the spot. The police opened the door using a duplicate key and found both individuals lying on the floor.

A forensic team was immediately summoned to collect evidence. Preliminary findings suggest:

Suspected Suicide: A packet of suspected poisonous substance and various medicines were found near a table in the room.

No Suicide Note: While over ₹2 lakh in cash and identity documents (Aadhaar, PAN, and Driving License) were recovered, no suicide note was found at the scene.

Last Seen: Hotel staff reported that the pair appeared normal and had dinner on Monday night before retiring to their room.

Current Status Speaking to the media, DCP Gaurav Banshwal stated that while the initial evidence points toward suicide by consuming a toxic substance, the exact cause of death will only be confirmed after the post-mortem report. The police are currently attempting to contact the family members of the deceased in Andhra Pradesh to ascertain the motive behind this extreme step.

The bodies have been sent to the divisional hospital for further procedures. Local authorities are also scanning CCTV footage from the hotel to ensure no third party was involved.
