Prime Minister Modi Arrives in Varanasi; City’s ‘Nari Shakti’ Leads the Welcome

Prime Minister Narendra Modi touched down in his parliamentary constituency of Varanasi on Tuesday, kicking off a high-stakes two-day visit defined by a massive developmental push and a spotlight on women-led leadership.
In a departure from standard protocol, the Prime Minister was officially received by a delegation of the city’s most prominent women professionals, signaling the "Nari Shakti" (Women Power) theme of his visit. Among those welcoming him on the red-brick helipad were Mrs. Pooja Madhok, Director of DALIMSS Sunbeam Group and a leading educationist, alongside renowned medical experts Dr. Kavery Gupta and Dr. Ankita Patel.
A Grand Welcome at Kashi Stepping down from the Indian Army helicopter (ZP 5189), the Prime Minister, dressed in his trademark white kurta and a vibrant saffron shawl, greeted the assembled dignitaries with a traditional Namaste.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Governor Anandiben Patel were also present to facilitate the arrival, though the focus remained on the local women representatives who shared the first moments of the visit with the PM.
