Pahadiya Mandi Demolition Drive Se Vyapari Naraz, Vyapar Prabhavit.

Traders and commission agents at Pahadiya Mandi have expressed strong disappointment over the ongoing demolition drive being carried out by the mandi administration. During conversations with this correspondent, traders said the action has created uncertainty and disrupted daily business operations within the mandi. According to the traders, several permanent and temporary structures that have been in use for years were demolished as part of an anti-encroachment campaign. They stated that these sheds and constructions were earlier developed to safeguard agricultural produce and support smooth trading, based on directions given by previous mandi officials. The traders now question how the same structures are being classified as illegal.
Many traders told this correspondent that the lack of prior consultation or dialogue has added to their frustration. They claimed that no effective hearing was provided before the action began, leaving them unprepared and affecting both traders and farmers who depend on the mandi for storage and sale of produce. Traders also warned that if the situation continues without a resolution, business operations at Pahadiya Mandi could be suspended. They urged the mandi administration to initiate talks and find a solution through mutual discussion rather than unilateral action. When contacted, mandi officials said the demolition drive is being conducted in accordance with existing rules and guidelines. Officials maintained that the objective is to remove encroachments and ensure proper functioning of the mandi, while indicating that further discussions with stakeholders may take place.
