Varanasi: Business leader and Shark Tank India judge Namita Thapar was recently spotted in Varanasi, where she spent a day exploring the city’s rich cultural, spiritual, and historical landscape.

During her visit, Thapar met a researcher popularly known as the “Brahmi Man of India” to understand his work on Brahmi, a key herbal ingredient associated with her brand initiatives. The interaction also included a discussion with a senior academic from Banaras Hindu University, adding an academic dimension to her trip.

Apart from professional engagements, she immersed herself in the essence of the city—visiting ghats, experiencing the unique atmosphere, and exploring local markets. She was seen wearing a traditional red Banarasi saree, reflecting her appreciation for local craftsmanship.

However, Thapar also shared mixed emotions about her experience. While she praised the beauty, history, and energy of Varanasi, she expressed concern over certain realities, including elderly men pulling cycle rickshaws and practices rooted in superstition.

Describing the visit as “short yet profound,” she said that Varanasi leaves a lasting impression—offering a powerful blend of life, spirituality, and history that stays with visitors long after they leave.
