Abhishek Kaushik, 34, of Saripur village under Gyanpur police station in Bhadohi district, died after his car slammed into the rear of a truck parked on the Harpur ring-road overbridge in Mirzamurad police station limits late on Friday, 18 September 2026. Mirzamurad officers said the car was moving from the Rakhauna side toward Harhua when the impact wedged much of the vehicle’s front into the standing truck. The driver was trapped and died at the scene.
Passers-by informed the station only hours later. Sub-inspector Prem Kumar reached with a team and called in a crane. After a difficult extraction, police pulled the damaged car free and recovered the body from inside. Contact with the family was made through a mobile phone found with the deceased, officers said. Abhishek was identified as the son of Sanjay Kumar Singh and as the family’s only son.
Police took the truck into custody and shifted the wrecked car to Khajuri police station for further process. The circumstances of why the truck was standing on the overbridge and how fast the car was travelling remain under inquiry.
