Mercedes-Benz India's CLA electric-car deliveries now extend to March 2027, with more than 1,000 confirmed orders and customers facing waits of up to six months, according to the company's September-quarter update. The delivery position gives Indian buyers a more concrete availability picture than the model's existing launch announcement.
The same update says deliveries of the electrified S-Class will begin in mid-October. Its top-spec MANUFAKTUR Edition is sold out for the rest of 2026, while a few EXCLUSIVE Line units remain available for orders. Mercedes-Benz has also scheduled the GLC electric SUV's India debut for 4 November.
These are company-wide indications, rather than promises for individual bookings. The statement does not break the CLA order book down by variant, colour or city, or give an allocation figure for the remaining S-Class units.
Mercedes-Benz reported 5,422 retail deliveries in July-September, against 5,119 a year earlier. January-September deliveries reached 15,190, compared with 14,132. Battery-electric sales grew 16% over those nine months despite limited availability, the official quarterly statement says.
What the CLA listing currently specifies
The current India CLA product page lists the CLA 200 with a 58 kWh usable battery, rear-wheel drive and a 165 kW motor producing 335 Nm. Its stated range is up to 542 km on the WLTP test cycle. That is a certification figure, rather than a guarantee of distance between charges in Indian traffic.
For that variant, the technical table specifies a maximum 200 kW DC charging rate and a claimed 20-minute charge from 10% to 80%. AC charging is listed at up to 11 kW, with a stated 6.5 hours for a full charge. Charger output and the battery's condition affect whether a charging session can match a manufacturer's quoted time.
The five-seat sedan also has a 405-litre boot and a separate 101-litre storage compartment under the bonnet. The company cautions that displayed accessories, colours and fittings may differ from standard specifications. None of these product-page details establishes an earlier delivery slot for a particular booking.
The S-Class has a different charging requirement
The S-Class India page identifies its electrified offering as the S450e plug-in hybrid. Its technical table combines a 2,999 cc six-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor, for a system output of 320 kW and 680 Nm. Power goes to the rear wheels through a nine-speed automatic transmission.
The S450e has 21.96 kWh of usable battery capacity. Mercedes-Benz lists charging limits of 60 kW DC and 11 kW AC, with a 20-minute DC charge from 10% to 80% and 2.25 hours for a full AC charge. These limits are separate from the CLA 200's, even though both cars can use external chargers.
The hybrid also retains a 67-litre fuel tank. Its combination of petrol and electric propulsion makes its ownership requirements different from a battery-only car. The online technical data does not identify the equipment fitted to each of the limited EXCLUSIVE Line units mentioned in the quarterly update.
Public charging access and session costs
For charging away from home, the company's India public-charging service for India currently lists access to more than 22,000 charging points. It brings participating operators into the Mercedes-Benz app, including Jio BP, ChargeZone, ChargeMod, Zeon Charging and Pulse Energy. The number represents charging points accessible through the service, rather than stations owned by Mercedes-Benz.
The service requires a Mercedes-Benz account and the vehicle identification number. It supports the brand's electric cars and selected plug-in hybrids. Authentication can use the app or an RFID card; automatic Plug & Charge depends on support from both the vehicle and charging station.
Charging is billed at the operator's applicable rate. The app or vehicle display shows the price and estimated session cost beforehand. Membership of the network therefore does not mean every charging session is free. The India service does not support cross-border charging. Mercedes-Benz also says an unpaid previous session can temporarily block access until the outstanding amount is settled.
Dalimss News has separately covered the Mercedes-Maybach S580e's limited India allocation and BMW's limited-edition India pre-orders. The present Mercedes-Benz update concerns delivery availability, without treating those earlier launches as new announcements.
