MLA Dr. Neelkanth Tiwari Dismisses Claims of Heritage Damage at Manikarnika Ghat

South Varanasi MLA Dr. Neelkanth Tiwari on Friday strongly rejected allegations of damage to temples and idols during the development work at Manikarnika Ghat, calling them politically motivated and misleading.

He said that the opposition is trying to hurt the sentiments of Sanatan Dharma by circulating fake videos generated using artificial intelligence (AI). “Not a single ancient temple or idol has been damaged. These false videos are being used to create confusion and spread misinformation,” he said.

Dr. Tiwari added that certain ancient artefacts which were in a sensitive condition due to drilling vibrations have been carefully secured and preserved as a precaution. He stressed that the redevelopment work is being carried out with full care to protect the city’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage.
