MUMBAI: The Mahindra XUV 7XO starts at Rs 13,99,000 and the Scorpio-N at Rs 13,69,000, ex-showroom, a gap of just Rs 30,000 at the entry point, according to the variant price tables on Mahindra's official website. At the top, the XUV 7XO reaches Rs 25,79,000 and the Scorpio-N Rs 25,49,000. Price as of 25 October 2026, 12:30 AM IST.

The two seven-seat SUVs share Mahindra's 2.0-litre mStallion turbo petrol and 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engines, and their price lists overlap almost completely. Mahindra lists 27 XUV 7XO versions and 31 Scorpio-N versions. The differences show up when you shop for a specific combination of fuel, gearbox and drive.

The diesel is where the Scorpio-N pulls ahead on price. Its cheapest diesel, the Z2, costs Rs 14,18,999, which is Rs 1,17,500 less than the XUV 7XO AX diesel at Rs 15,36,499. For petrol buyers the difference at entry is only Rs 30,000.

Automatics follow the same pattern. The cheapest Scorpio-N petrol automatic, the Z4, is Rs 72,307 below the XUV 7XO AX3 petrol automatic, and the gap on diesel automatics is Rs 69,562.

The spread from cheapest to dearest is identical for both SUVs at Rs 11,80,000. Mahindra lists 16 automatic versions of the XUV 7XO and 14 of the Scorpio-N, so buyers who want two pedals have plenty of choice in both price lists.

Four-wheel drive is the biggest split

If you want power to all four wheels, the two SUVs are far apart. The Scorpio-N offers 4WD from the Z4 diesel manual at Rs 18,02,499. On the XUV 7XO, all-wheel drive comes only with the diesel automatic on the top trims, starting with the AX7T diesel AWD at Rs 23,99,000. That is Rs 5,96,501 more for the cheapest driven-all-wheels version.

Six-seat buyers pay roughly the same. The XUV 7XO AX7T diesel manual six-seater costs Rs 21,98,999, and the Scorpio-N Z8L petrol manual six-seater costs Rs 21,68,699.

Engines and output on paper

Mahindra quotes 149.2 kW and 380 Nm for the XUV 7XO petrol, and 137 kW with 420 Nm (manual) or 450 Nm (automatic) for its diesel. For the Scorpio-N it lists 149.14 kW with 370 Nm (manual) or 380 Nm (automatic) for the petrol, and 128.6 kW with 370 Nm or 400 Nm for the top diesel tune.

So the XUV 7XO diesel is the stronger of the two on paper, while the petrol outputs are almost identical.

One note on the XUV 7XO page: its header quotes a range up to Rs 25.94 lakh, while the highest price in its variant table is Rs 25,79,000. We have used the variant table.
