NEW DELHI: Lava International has launched the Shark 2 Pro 5G in India at Rs 16,699 for the sole 6GB + 128GB configuration. The handset is aimed at offline retail and authorised Lava stores, with financial schemes available across those counters. Colours are Akash Blue and Nanda Silver.

The Shark 2 Pro carries a 6.75-inch (17.13 cm) HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. It is powered by an octa-core Unisoc T8200 built on a 6nm process. Lava quotes a 500K-plus AnTuTu score for the chip. Storage is 128GB, expandable to 1TB via microSD, and RAM can add up to 6GB of virtual memory on top of the physical 6GB.

Battery capacity is 6,000mAh with an 18W charger in the box. The rear camera is listed as a 50MP AI unit with Night Mode, HDR, Portrait, Film, Pro Mode and Motion Photo, plus Dual-View Video and 2K at 30fps recording. The front camera is 8MP. The phone is IP64 rated for splash and dust resistance and uses a side fingerprint sensor with Face Unlock as a backup.

Software, AI and connectivity

Software is Android 16 with what Lava calls a bloatware-free interface, plus Vayu AI as the brand's on-device assistant. Before paying at a counter, buyers should confirm IMEI registration, the exact charger wattage in the sealed box, and whether Vayu AI needs an account or stays usable offline. MicroSD and second-SIM trade-offs on the hybrid tray matter if you need both expandable storage and two active 5G lines.
