Kashi NCC Cadet Sanjeevani Rajesh Selected to Represent India in UK

Varanasi, June 29, 2026: Kashi's NCC community has received a fresh moment of recognition after Cadet Sanjeevani Rajesh of 100 UP Battalion NCC, Group Headquarters B, Varanasi, was selected to represent India in the National Cadet Corps Youth Exchange Programme to the United Kingdom.
Sanjeevani is a student of Udai Pratap Autonomous College. According to reports, she earned her place after clearing a national-level selection process that included written tests, interviews, personality assessment and drill evaluation.
The selection is significant for Varanasi because Youth Exchange Programme opportunities are among the most visible international platforms available to NCC cadets. Cadets selected for such delegations are expected to represent India through discipline, leadership and cultural interaction.
Selected After National-Level Process
The selection process reportedly involved cadets from different NCC directorates across the country. The stages included written assessment, interview rounds, evaluation of personality and performance in drill, making the final selection a competitive achievement.
For a cadet from Varanasi to make it through this process is also a reflection of sustained training at the unit and group level. NCC training places emphasis on discipline, teamwork, public service and confidence, all of which are tested during national-level evaluation.
Proud Moment for Varanasi NCC Group
Officials associated with the Varanasi NCC Group have described the selection as a proud moment for the city and for Uttar Pradesh. Reports said Group Commander Vikas Panjiyar congratulated Sanjeevani and noted that the achievement reflected dedication, discipline and perseverance.
The United Kingdom visit under the Youth Exchange Programme will place selected cadets in a setting where they interact with counterparts and hosts abroad. Such programmes are not only ceremonial; they also expose young cadets to international etiquette, civic engagement and cultural exchange.
Inspiration for Young Cadets
Sanjeevani's selection is likely to encourage other NCC cadets in schools and colleges across Kashi. Many young cadets enter NCC with local camps and college-level activities, but the path can lead to national camps, Republic Day Camp exposure and international youth delegations for those who perform consistently.
For Udai Pratap Autonomous College, the achievement adds to the institution's record of student participation in disciplined public service and youth development activities. For the NCC unit, it highlights the value of structured training and mentorship.
Why Youth Exchange Programmes Matter
The NCC Youth Exchange Programme is designed to help selected cadets understand other countries while presenting India's culture and youth leadership abroad. It gives cadets a chance to act as youth ambassadors and return with broader exposure.
For Varanasi, a city with a deep educational and cultural identity, the selection of a local cadet for an international NCC delegation carries symbolic value. It shows how local institutions and training groups can open global doors for disciplined students.
Further official travel schedule and delegation details are awaited. Dalimss News will update this report if NCC authorities release additional information.
