Haryana has 647 MBBS and BDS seats still open going into the third round of state counselling. Pt. B.D. Sharma University of Health Sciences (UHSR), Rohtak, has posted a tentative vacant seat matrix showing 499 MBBS seats across 16 medical colleges and 148 BDS seats across seven dental colleges, with figures as on 3 October 2026.
The Round 3 tentative vacant seat matrix covers government, government-aided and private institutions in the state, including those under SGT University in Budhera, Gurugram, Maharishi Markandeshwar University in Sadhopur, Ambala, Al-Falah University in Faridabad and Sanskaram University in Jhajjar.
Where the seats are
Most of the vacancies are in quotas that cost more. NRI seats account for 298 of the 647, management quota for 145 and the minority quota at Al-Falah for 10. Only 84 seats are listed under the open category, with the rest spread across reserved, PwBD and ex-servicemen sub-categories.
Private colleges hold the bulk. Maharishi Markandeshwar College of Medical Sciences and Research, Sadhopur, shows 106 vacant MBBS seats. NC Medical College, Israna, and World College of Medical Sciences and Research, Jhajjar, show 69 each, Sanskaram School of Medical Sciences 61 and Al-Falah 49. SGT University's medical faculty in Gurugram has 37, of which 29 are NRI seats.
Government colleges have far fewer. PGIMS Rohtak shows 9 MBBS vacancies, Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College in Karnal and Bhagat Phool Singh Government Medical College for Women in Khanpur Kalan 7 each, Shaheed Hasan Khan Mewati Government Medical College in Nalhar 6 and ESIC Medical College in Faridabad 5. Pt. Neki Ram Sharma Government Medical College, Bhiwani, lists 4.
For a student with a modest budget, the realistic pool is therefore much smaller than 647. Government college vacancies, which carry the lowest fees, add up to only a few dozen MBBS seats across the state, spread thinly over categories.
On the dental side, Yamuna Institute of Dental Sciences and Research in Gadholi has 30 seats, Swami Devi Dayal in Panchkula 24, PGIDS Rohtak 23 and SGT Dental College in Gurugram 19.
The matrix carries three notes. Changes, if any, will be uploaded before seats are allocated. Candidates are told to fill as many choices as they can. It also flags 50 newly added seats at Maharishi Markandeshwar, Sadhopur, and says an increase from 150 to 200 seats remains subject to the final outcome of CWP No. 30532 of 2025 in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, which allowed the extra admissions through an interim order.
Round 3 dates and fees
The schedule, issued on 24 September, keeps registration, editing, choice submission and locking open from 28 September to 11:59 PM on 10 October. Provisional allocation is due on 12 October. Fees must be deposited online between 12 and 14 October, up to 11:00 PM.
Document verification will be held at Sushruta Auditorium on the UHSR campus in Rohtak on 15 and 16 October from 9:00 AM, for those who have paid. Admission letters can be downloaded from 15 to 17 October, and the last date to join the allotted college is 17 October up to 4:00 PM.
Candidates who want only state quota seats in government or government-aided colleges must deposit Rs 10,000, or Rs 5,000 for SC, SCD, BCA, BCB, EWS and PwBD candidates of Haryana. Those who also want state or management quota seats in private medical and dental colleges must deposit Rs 1 lakh, according to the UHSR Round 3 schedule notice.
What candidates should do now
Anyone already registered for Rounds 1 and 2 does not have to register again, but must submit fresh choices. Candidates who joined a seat in an earlier round keep it unless they get an upgrade in Round 3, and must give their willingness to upgrade online or they will not be considered. Dalimss covered the opening of this window in the Haryana NEET UG Round 3 registration report.
Use the 3 October matrix to build a realistic list, then check again before 10 October because the university may post a revised version. Students weighing a Haryana seat against an All India Quota seat should also read the MCC NEET UG Round 3 final allotment story, since joining dates for the two processes overlap this month.
