The Board of School Education Haryana (BSEH) has put out three notices in the past week that matter to students, private candidates and would-be teachers in the state. The Haryana Open School deadline for March 2027 fresh forms has been pushed to 15 October, schools have been told the UDISE code is now compulsory in exam forms, and the board says HTET 2026 will be held this year.
This guide puts the dates and rules in one place, using the board's own notices on bseh.org.in. It covers what has been announced as of 6 October 2026 and flags what is still to come.
Haryana Open School: March 2027 forms till 15 October
The biggest change is for students in the Haryana Open School (HOS) system. Under BSEH press note Circular No. BSEH/HOS/2026/10 dated 1 October 2026, the last date for fresh category online applications for the HOS Secondary and Senior Secondary examination of March 2027, without late fee, was 30 September 2026. In the interest of students, the board has now extended it to 15 October 2026.
The extension applies to the fresh category, which means candidates entering HOS for the March 2027 examination for the first time. Candidates apply through the link for the HOS fresh examination application form for March 2027 on the board's website.
Open schooling is often the route for students who left regular school, need to study while working, or want to complete Class 10 or 12 at their own pace. If you or someone in your family planned to sit the March 2027 HOS papers and missed the September date, this is the window. Fill the form before 15 October, since the press note only extends the no-late-fee date.
UDISE code is compulsory for 2027 exam forms
The second notice is aimed at schools. Under BSEH Notification No. BSEH/SRS/2026/89 dated 1 October 2026, filling in the UDISE code of the school or institution is now mandatory in the application forms the board will invite for the Secondary and Senior Secondary examinations of March 2027.
The board cites a letter from the Deputy Director General, Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Education, D.O. No. 23-19/2020-Stats dated 5 June 2026. Under that letter, the UDISE code of the school must be recorded on all school student certificates. The board's exam forms are being changed to match.
UDISE is the government's code for every school in the country, and most recognised schools already have one. The board has asked all concerned to make sure their school or institution has a UDISE code, so that students do not run into trouble while registering. It calls the matter very urgent.
Parents of Class 10 and Class 12 students do not have to do anything themselves at this stage. It is still worth asking the school whether its UDISE code is in order, especially in smaller private schools and gurukuls. A missing code at the school's end could hold up a student's registration when forms open.
HTET 2026 will be held this year
For teaching aspirants, the board has issued a short public notice on the conduct of the Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) 2026. It says HTET 2026 is to be held this year, in 2026, and that the board is carrying out the preparations and related processes on a fixed timeline so the test can be held as planned.
The notice does not give the exam date, the application dates or the fee. BSEH says the date, application process, admit cards and other instructions will be released on www.bseh.org.in from time to time, and advises candidates to keep preparing.
The notice also tells candidates to rely only on the board's official website and authorised channels for HTET updates. Treat any HTET form, fee demand or date sheet that does not come from bseh.org.in with suspicion until the board itself confirms it.
The board's homepage also still carries the result and e-certificate link for HTET 2025, for candidates who have not yet downloaded their certificate.
Other windows on the board's site
Enrolment and registration of students in Classes 9 to 12 for the 2026-27 session is open through the board's portal, and schools handle it on behalf of their students.
The October 2026 examinations are also under way. Under Circular No. BSEH/HOS/2026/09 dated 18 September 2026, admit cards for the HOS Secondary and Senior Secondary October 2026 examination were released from 22 September for the CTP, OCTP, re-appear, additional subject and marks improvement categories. Candidates must print the admit card in colour on A4 paper and reach the centre 30 minutes early with their original Aadhaar card.
The same circular says candidates with disabilities who need a scribe must show a disability certificate or UDID card certified by the Chief Medical Officer. It warns that appearing in an exam in place of another candidate is a punishable offence and can lead to an FIR.
One deadline has already closed. The board had extended the affiliation application date for the 2026-27 session for government and private permanent recognised schools and gurukuls to 2 October 2026, and said no further extension would be given.
What to watch next
Two announcements are still pending: the HTET 2026 schedule and the regular application window for the March 2027 board examinations, where the UDISE rule will first bite. Both will be posted on bseh.org.in.
