Gurugram UG Admission Fee Deadline Extended to August 4

GURUGRAM: Students selected in the first undergraduate merit list for Haryana government colleges have received additional time to confirm their seats, with the online fee-payment deadline extended to August 4. The higher education department revised the schedule after a number of selected candidates were unable or chose not to pay within the earlier window.

Under the updated calendar, first-list candidates can complete payment until August 4. A provisional merit list is scheduled for August 5 after correction of objections and data errors, followed by the second merit list on August 6. Students should rely on the official admission portal and notices from their allotted college for any further change.

The extension matters because fee payment, not appearance on a merit list alone, secures admission. A selected student who misses the revised deadline may lose the offered seat, allowing it to move into a later allocation. Candidates should verify the payment status and retain the digital receipt rather than assume that a submitted transaction has succeeded.

Admissions after the first list have moved more slowly than expected in Gurugram’s government colleges. College officials say some students applied simultaneously to Delhi universities and other institutions, while others are waiting for a preferred subject or campus. The overlap leaves colleges uncertain about how many displayed selections will become actual enrolments.

At Government College Sector 9, around 40% of seats had been filled when the revised schedule was announced. The extended window gives first-list candidates another opportunity while reducing the chance that seats remain vacant simply because a student lacked information or faced a payment problem.

College admission cells have been asked to inform selected candidates. They should also provide clear help for portal errors, category documents and payment reconciliation. Students facing a failed transaction should report it before the deadline with the transaction reference, screenshot and bank status rather than attempting repeated payments without guidance.

The provisional list on August 5 will be an important correction stage. Candidates must check their personal details, marks, category and preference information and raise any permitted objection within the notified process. The second merit list on August 6 will depend on confirmed admissions and the seats left after the first round.

The extra time is relief, but it is also the final working window under the current schedule. Students should not wait until the last hour, when heavy portal traffic or bank delays can complicate payment. Colleges, meanwhile, need to keep help desks active so an administrative extension translates into real access rather than another round of uncertainty.
