Fake Delhi Police Gang Busted in Gurugram: Bareilly CA Among Accused in ₹25 Lakh Extortion Attempt

Gurugram Police have arrested a Chartered Accountant (CA) from Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, in connection with an alleged ₹25 lakh extortion attempt at a flat in Gurugram. According to the investigation, the accused was part of a four-member gang, including a woman, that allegedly posed as Delhi Police personnel to intimidate young men attending a private party. The group allegedly confined the victims inside the flat, threatened them with legal action, and demanded ₹25 lakh to avoid arrest. Following a complaint, police launched a swift operation and arrested the accused. An FIR has been registered under various sections related to extortion, wrongful confinement, criminal intimidation, impersonation, and conspiracy. Police are also probing whether the gang targeted other victims using a similar modus operandi.
