DM Satyendra Kumar Highlights Road Connectivity Push in Varanasi

Varanasi: District Magistrate Satyendra Kumar, in an exclusive interaction with Dalimss News, shared key insights into the ongoing and upcoming infrastructure development projects aimed at transforming road connectivity across Varanasi. He said that multiple road expansion, widening, and new connectivity projects are being implemented to ensure smoother traffic flow, reduce congestion, and improve overall commuting experience for residents and visitors alike.
Highlighting the impact of the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, the DM said that the project has emerged as a major catalyst for economic growth in the city. “After the completion of the corridor, tourism has witnessed a significant rise, which has directly benefited local businesses, traders, hotel owners, transport operators, and small vendors. The entire ecosystem related to tourism and commerce has received a strong boost,” he stated.
Satyendra Kumar further added that the administration is working on an integrated development model where road infrastructure, parking facilities, pedestrian-friendly zones, and public transport systems are being upgraded simultaneously. Special focus is being given to improving connectivity to major religious, cultural, and commercial hubs to facilitate smooth movement and enhance the city’s global image.
The DM also said that coordination between various departments is being strengthened to ensure timely execution of projects. “Our objective is to build a modern, efficient, and sustainable infrastructure network while preserving the cultural and spiritual heritage of Kashi,” he said.
He expressed confidence that these initiatives will not only ease daily commuting but also contribute significantly to the long-term economic and tourism growth of Varanasi, further establishing it as a world-class spiritual and cultural destination.
