Damdami Taksal Chief Harnam Singh Khalsa Urges Schools to Strengthen Indian Cultural Values

Varanasi: Harnam Singh Khalsa, also known as Harnam Singh Dhumma, the 16th Jathedar of Damdami Taksal, attended the AFS North Zone Meet held at Dalimss Sunbeam Rohania from July 24 to 26 as the Chief Guest.

Speaking exclusively to Dalimss News, Harnam Singh Khalsa expressed concern over the growing influence of foreign culture on young students. He said that while globalization has opened new opportunities, it is the responsibility of teachers and educational institutions to ensure that students remain connected to India's cultural values and traditions.

He observed that today's students are more aware, outspoken, and socially conscious than previous generations. According to him, this heightened awareness should be positively channelled through proper guidance, value-based education, and character development so that young people can contribute meaningfully to society.

Praising the AFS North Zone Meet, Harnam Singh Khalsa said such programmes provide an excellent platform for students to understand and appreciate the diverse cultures, traditions, and communities that coexist across India. He noted that these interactions help foster mutual respect, national unity, and cultural awareness among young learners.

He also commended the efforts of Dalimss Sunbeam School and Hostel and appreciated its management, including Pradeep Banna Madhok and Ms. Pooja Madhok, for successfully organizing the event and creating an environment that promotes holistic education, cultural exchange, and value-based learning.
