Bike Stolen in Phulpur Area, FIR Filed After 9 Days

A bike theft case has come to light in the Phulpur police station area of Varanasi, where an FIR was registered nine days after the incident. The theft occurred on January 15, 2026, when the victim had gone to watch a local match.
Kuldeep Pankaj, a resident of Barji village (Bharawar), said he parked his motorcycle after locking it in Surahi (Govardhanpur) and went to watch the match. When he returned, the bike was missing. Despite searching, no trace was found. The stolen motorcycle also had registration, insurance, and other important documents inside it.
Police have registered the case under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023. Phulpur SHO Inspector Atul Kumar Singh said the FIR was lodged after receiving the written complaint and that efforts are underway to trace the bike and identify the thief. The investigation is currently ongoing.
