7 Saal Baad India Pahucha Iranian Oil! 20-20 Lakh Barrel Wale Do Bade Tanker Aaye

New Delhi — In a major development for India’s energy sector, the country has received Iranian crude oil after a gap of seven years, marking a significant shift in global oil dynamics.
According to reports, two very large crude carriers (VLCCs)—each carrying nearly 2 million barrels of oil—have reached Indian ports.
This is the first time since 2019 that India has resumed importing oil from Iran, after earlier purchases were halted due to U.S. sanctions on Tehran.
The recent imports have been made possible due to a temporary waiver granted by the United States, allowing Indian refiners to source Iranian crude amid ongoing global supply disruptions.
Major Indian refiners like Indian Oil Corporation and Reliance Industries are reportedly involved in these purchases, taking advantage of the limited window to secure supplies.
The move comes at a time when global oil markets are under pressure due to geopolitical tensions in West Asia, including disruptions around the Strait of Hormuz, a key oil transit route.
Experts say this step will help India diversify its crude sources and strengthen energy security, especially as it relies heavily on imports to meet its oil demand.
However, the situation remains uncertain, as the U.S. waiver allowing such imports is temporary and expected to expire soon, making future supplies dependent on geopolitical developments.
