NEW DELHI: Voltas lists the 183FS Prism window AC at Rs 34,000 and the 122FS Platina at Rs 29,500 on its official store. Platina starts lower, but this is not a comparison of equivalent-capacity machines: Prism is listed as 1.5 ton and three star, while Platina is 1 ton and two star. The model suffix is essential to understanding the price.

Price as of 2 November 2026, 00:58 IST. Voltas labels these as Offer Price, inclusive of taxes, and says shipping is calculated at checkout. Platina also displays a restock notification facility. The price remains a published reference, but it is not confirmation that an order can be fulfilled at a reader's address.
The capacity difference comes first
Both are window-format air conditioners, yet the specifications answer different cooling requirements. The higher cooling-capacity figure on Prism means the rupee difference cannot be explained simply as a premium for a different badge or finish. A homeowner comparing them should first establish which capacity is appropriate for the actual room, then compare the price and efficiency information.
This matters particularly when an old window AC is being replaced. The familiar installation position can make the decision appear straightforward, but the old unit's nominal tonnage is not a fresh assessment of the room. Changes to window shading, use of the room or surrounding space can affect what the installer needs to evaluate. The existing opening and the new cabinet must also be checked together.
What is shared on the official pages
The feature lists for both models include an anti-dust filter, copper construction, memory restart, sleep mode and an anti-freeze thermostat. Both mention an anti-corrosive coating on the hairpin side of the indoor coil. These are shared listed features, so they do not by themselves explain choosing the more expensive model.
Voltas also makes the same high-ambient cooling claim for the pair. That makes the claimed temperature limit a poor way to separate these two listings. More useful distinctions are the stated cooling capacity and star rating. Neither page provides enough information here to calculate a household's electricity bill, and this comparison does not attach a rupee-saving estimate to the star difference.
Who the two models are for
The 122FS Platina is relevant where a site assessment supports the lower capacity and a window installation suits the property. The 183FS Prism is relevant where the required cooling load calls for its higher capacity. The lower sticker price should not decide the result if it comes with a capacity that does not match the room.
A tenant should also establish whether the property permits the proposed installation and whether the existing opening is suitable. An owner replacing an ageing machine should ask for the cabinet dimensions and the installation work in writing. Those checks are more concrete than assuming all window ACs can be exchanged without altering the fit or support.
Compare the final job, as well as the appliance
Request separate entries for the exact machine and any installation work. If the quotation substitutes another model suffix, ask for its specifications before comparing the total. A window AC comparison loses its meaning when the invoice silently changes the product, even if the capacity description appears similar. Keep the official page and the quotation together for a clear record of what was offered.

Our Voltas Vectra Zenith price list: Rs 35,000 to Rs 49,990 illustrates why installation is a separate comparison. A charge or installation inclusion from another brand does not establish the terms for either window AC here.
