Tata Power EV Charging Solutions has inaugurated three 60 kW chargers at two Kanpur locations. Its 12 October announcement identifies one unit at Eternity, Kanpur, IHCL SeleQtions, and two at Deepu Chauhan Food Court on NH 19.

The food court installation is supported by channel partner Aviral Enterprises. The company describes NH 19 as a Delhi-Varanasi highway corridor, but the facilities named in the release are in Kanpur.

Where the two charging stops are

The hotel's official address is Arazi No. 595, 637 (Part), Gram Baikunthpur, Kanpur Sadar, Kanpur 208017, Uttar Pradesh. Its published telephone number is +91 51235 27000. Drivers heading to the hotel can use that contact to ask about the charging-bay entrance and any premises-access conditions before making a detour.

Tata Power says the hotel installation allows guests and visitors to charge while using the property's amenities. Eternity lists the Celeste restaurant and Aurumn lounge, which serves tea, coffee and bakery items. The hotel information does not set out charger operating hours or a charging tariff.

The announcement does not specify connector types, tariffs or how many cars can charge at once. Those details still need checking for the chosen Kanpur stop before deciding where to plug in.

Check the station, not just the map pin

The EZ Charge website provides a station locator with separate status labels for available, occupied and unavailable chargers. It also offers connector and power filters. Those are network-wide search tools: a connector appearing in the filter menu does not establish that it is fitted at either new Kanpur location.

For a journey through Kanpur, search for the named premises and inspect the individual station details before departure. An inauguration notice cannot establish whether a unit is free at the time a driver arrives. Live status is more useful for that immediate decision than the date the facility opened.

The official Tata Power EZ Charge Android listing, updated on 7 October, describes station searches and a Trip Planner, alongside charging and payment functions. It also advertises advance-slot booking and Auto Charge. These are app-level capabilities; their availability at the three new units has not been confirmed.

For an unfamiliar charger, the listing identifies The Tata Power Company Limited as the developer and provides evsupport@tatapower.com and 1800-833-2233 for support. Use the operator's published contact if the station cannot be found or its entry leaves access unclear. No live charging session at either site was tested for this report.

The app also lets users save a favourite charger for quicker access on later trips. For someone returning to the same Kanpur stop, that can simplify finding its entry, but the saved location still needs a fresh availability check.

What 60 kW does and does not tell drivers

Tata Power's charging FAQ says session duration depends on charger output and vehicle battery capacity. A 60 kW rating alone therefore cannot produce a reliable arrival-to-departure estimate. The Kanpur announcement supplies equipment ratings, rather than measured charging times for a particular car.

The operator's public-charging guide adds that a vehicle's own charging limit can restrict the speed it receives. Check the car's compatible connector and charging capability before selecting a stop. A charger with a higher advertised output does not remove the vehicle's limit.

Costs need a separate check. The guide distinguishes energy-based tariffs, charged per kWh, from time-based tariffs and notes that some stations levy idle fees after charging ends. This is general guidance, not confirmation that those fees apply in Kanpur. Read the selected station's charging terms and payment options before starting.

Opening hours can also depend on the premises hosting a charger. The operator advises checking access times and keeping an alternative station in mind if the intended stop is occupied or unavailable. For an evening journey, confirm the charging area's hours rather than assuming the hotel or food court guarantees round-the-clock access.

Dalimss News has separately examined Exponent Energy's vehicle-and-charger system and the charging conditions attached to Volvo EX90 specifications. Those reports concern different equipment. Their charging-time figures should not be transferred to these newly announced Kanpur units.
