CHENNAI: The Royal Enfield Classic 650 costs Rs 3,67,592 to Rs 3,82,097 ex-showroom, according to the price list on Royal Enfield's India website. There are three variants and four colours, and the gap between the cheapest and the dearest is Rs 14,505. Royal Enfield shows the same prices for Chennai, Delhi and Mumbai. Price as of 22 October 2026, 12:30 AM IST.

The Classic 650 takes the look of Royal Enfield's Classic 350, with its teardrop tank and casquette headlamp, and fits the company's 648cc parallel-twin engine. Price-wise, it starts Rs 1,41,523 above the most expensive Classic 350 on Royal Enfield's current list.

Hotrod, Vallam Red or Bruntingthorpe Blue: Rs 3,67,592. This is the entry variant and the only one offered in two colours.

Classic, Teal: Rs 3,72,427, Rs 4,835 more than the Hotrod.

Chrome, Black Chrome: Rs 3,82,097, Rs 9,670 more than the Teal and the top of the range.

All three share the same engine, chassis, brakes and wheels on Royal Enfield's specification sheet. The difference is paint and finish, so the choice comes down to looks and Rs 14,505 at most.

Engine and gearbox

Royal Enfield lists the engine as an inline twin-cylinder, four-stroke SOHC unit of 647.95cc, with a bore and stroke of 78 mm by 67.8 mm. It makes 34.6 kW at 7,250 rpm and 52.3 Nm at 5,650 rpm, through a six-speed gearbox and a wet multi-plate clutch. Fuel injection and electric start are standard, and Royal Enfield calls for fully synthetic 10W-50 oil.

The company says it recalibrated the twin for a relaxed character on the Classic. On paper the Classic 650 makes almost twice the 27 Nm that Royal Enfield lists for its 349cc Hunter and Meteor, which matters most when riding two-up or overtaking on highways.

Chassis, weight and dimensions

The Classic 650 sits on a steel tubular spine frame with a 43 mm telescopic fork, offering 120 mm of travel, and twin rear shocks with 90 mm of travel. Royal Enfield's feature list credits the suspension to Showa. The front wheel is a 19-inch unit with a 100/90 tyre and the rear an 18-inch with a 140/70 tyre, on aluminium rims.

Braking is by a single 320 mm front disc and a 300 mm rear disc, both with twin-piston floating calipers, and dual-channel ABS. The seat height is 800 mm and ground clearance is 154 mm.

It is a heavy motorcycle. Royal Enfield lists a kerb weight of 243 kg with 90 percent fuel and oil, on a 1,475 mm wheelbase, with a 14.8 litre tank. The overall length is 2,318 mm. Riders moving up from a 350 should try a slow U-turn and a push around the dealer's lot before booking.

Other features on the page include twin peashooter exhausts, an LED casquette headlamp with the Classic's tiger-eye pilot lamps, aluminium switchgear with rotary switch cubes, a USB charging port and a removable pillion seat with subframe. The dashboard pairs an analogue speedometer with a small LCD showing gear position, fuel level and trip data.

Warranty and what to check before buying

Royal Enfield's FAQ says the Classic 650 comes with a standard warranty of 36 months or 40,000 km, whichever comes first, and that extended warranty can be bought on top. Ask the dealer for the extended plan's price in writing, since it is not on the model page.

These are ex-showroom figures. Road tax and registration on a motorcycle at this price add a sizeable sum in most states, so the on-road price will be well above the list. Get the quote broken into ex-showroom, registration, insurance and accessories, and compare it with the price list above.
