During his recent visit to Varanasi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was presented with a finely crafted replica of the Kashi Vishwanath Dham, created using the traditional Gulabi Meenakari (pink enamel) art form. The intricate piece, made with approximately 200 grams of silver and finished with gold polishing, features detailed elements such as temple spires, the Trishul, and Nandi.

The artwork was developed by a team of five artisans under the guidance of master craftsman Kunj Bihari, who completed the piece within seven days. Valued between ₹75,000 and ₹80,000, the replica reflects the rich artistic heritage of Kashi and the skilled craftsmanship preserved by local artisans.

Following its presentation to the Prime Minister, the creation has generated significant attention in the market. According to Kunj Bihari, he began receiving inquiries from traders in cities like Delhi within hours, and orders for around 20 pieces were placed within the first 12 hours.

This is not the first time such traditional artwork has gained momentum after being presented to the Prime Minister. Earlier, a similar Meenakari replica of the Ram Mandir had also seen a surge in demand, generating substantial business during the festive season.

Kunj Bihari, a resident of the Dudh Gali area in Varanasi, continues to play a key role in preserving and promoting the centuries-old Gulabi Meenakari craft. His creations are often used as official gifts by dignitaries, highlighting the importance of traditional Indian art in cultural diplomacy and economic growth.
