Odisha has opened the second round of counselling for state quota seats in BAMS and BHMS courses. The Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) board started registration and choice filling at noon on 3 October 2026, and the round closes at 11:59 PM on 7 October.
A notice for candidates taking part in BAMS and BHMS Round 2, numbered OJEE/0557 and dated 3 October, sets out who must fill fresh choices and who can carry over choices from Round 1. It is meant for NEET UG 2026 qualified candidates seeking Ayurveda and Homoeopathy seats under the state quota.
Round 2 calendar
According to OJEE's tentative BAMS and BHMS counselling schedule for 2026-27, choice locking opens at 11:00 AM on 6 October. Registration and locking end at 11:59 PM on 7 October, and data reconciliation follows on 8 October.
The Round 2 seat allotment and provisional allotment letters are due at 5:00 PM on 9 October. Allotted candidates must report at the OJEE office in Gandamunda, Bhubaneswar, between 10:00 AM on 12 October and 5:00 PM on 13 October for document verification, fee payment and the freeze or float option. Withdrawal from the process is open from 10:00 AM on 10 October to 5:00 PM on 14 October.
Round 1 of this process ran in the second half of September. Seats were allotted on 25 September and reporting at Gandamunda took place on 28 and 29 September, so Round 2 now offers whatever was not taken or was given up after that.
A third round is listed for later in the month, with registration from 24 October and allotment on 28 October, but those dates are tentative and depend on how many seats remain.
Who has to fill choices again
The notice splits candidates into groups. Anyone registering for the first time in Round 2 must fill fresh choices after completing registration and paying the counselling fee.
Candidates who got no seat in Round 1 do not need to fill choices again. If they want to change their Round 1 list, they must give consent as "Yes" in their login before editing. The same "Yes" consent applies to those who withdrew from counselling earlier and now want back in.
Two groups lose their old choices entirely. Candidates allotted a seat in Round 1 who did not complete physical reporting will have their earlier choices treated as null and void and must fill fresh ones to take part. So must candidates whose Round 1 seat was cancelled for reasons such as a change of category or sub-category.
The notice is strict about two further cases. A candidate who was allotted a seat in Round 1, reported at Gandamunda and chose the float option cannot modify or fill choices in any later round of web counselling. A candidate allotted a seat in Round 1 who did not report at the OJEE office is treated as non-reported. The notice says such candidates will not be considered in further rounds and must follow the instructions above, wording that sits uneasily with the fresh-choice rule for non-reporters. Anyone in this group should seek clarification from OJEE before 7 October rather than assume either reading.
Before you lock
Read OJEE's information and instructions booklet for BAMS and BHMS counselling 2026-27 before finalising choices, since the board says registration means accepting its rules. Lock your list before 11:59 PM on 7 October and download the locked choice sheet for your records.
Students also tracking central AYUSH counselling should note that AACCC's Round 2 reporting runs from 3 to 9 October, as covered in the AACCC UG Round 2 final result story. Odisha's MBBS and BDS process runs separately, as set out in the OJEE MBBS and BDS Round 3 report.
Keep the NEET UG 2026 scorecard, Odisha residence and category certificates and the counselling fee receipt in one folder, and check ojee.nic.in after 5:00 PM on 9 October for the allotment.
