NEW DELHI: Motorola lists the Edge 70 Pro at Rs 42,999 and the Edge 70 Pro Plus at Rs 47,999 for selected 12GB RAM and 256GB storage versions on its India website. The Pro Plus adds a periscope telephoto camera and wireless charging, while both pages list the same processor, battery capacity and wired charging power.

The quoted prices hold RAM and storage constant

The selected Pro version was Pantone Tea, while the Pro Plus page was set to Pantone Stormy Sea. Both displayed the same RAM and storage capacities, making this a comparison of model features without a simultaneous jump in advertised memory.

The prices are the amounts displayed on the product pages before conditional payment benefits. Motorola shows financing and bank promotions separately. Those promotions have not been folded into the figures here, and a listing with another colour or memory selection may need its own availability check.

The extra rear camera is the clearest distinction

The Pro Plus specification sheet lists a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with optical image stabilisation and 3.5x optical zoom. Its main and ultrawide cameras remain separate entries. The standard Pro sheet lists the main and ultrawide pair, without a dedicated telephoto camera.

This also helps decode Motorola's camera-count language. The Pro has a 50MP front camera in addition to its rear cameras. A statement about several high-resolution cameras should not be read as meaning they are all mounted on the back of the phone.

Both main cameras are identified as Sony LYTIA 710 units with optical image stabilisation. Both ultrawide entries include autofocus and macro capability. These specifications establish the available camera hardware; they do not establish a winner for colour, exposure or low-light photographs.

Wireless charging changes the charging options

The Pro Plus lists 15W wireless charging as well as wireless reverse charging. The standard Pro sheet lists wired charging and wired reverse charging, without an equivalent wireless entry. The extra capability therefore concerns how the phone can be charged, rather than a higher wired power rating.

Both have a 6500mAh battery and support 90W wired TurboPower charging. Motorola includes a 90W adapter and a USB Type-C to USB Type-C cable in the box lists. A compatible wireless charging accessory is a separate requirement; it is not included in those box lists.

Much of the core hardware is shared

The same MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Extreme processor appears on both specification sheets. The compared models also use LPDDR5X memory and UFS 4.1 storage. The Pro Plus name should not, by itself, be interpreted as evidence of a different processor in this pair.

The screens are also closely aligned on paper. Both list a 2772 x 1272 resolution, refresh rates up to 144Hz and high-brightness mode of 1800 nits. Motorola quotes peak brightness separately, which is another reason not to combine different brightness measurements into a single everyday-use claim.

Design and practical connections

Motorola offers distinct finish and colour descriptions across the two models. The Pro Plus sheet includes an FSC-certified wood finish among its options, alongside fabric-inspired finishes. These finish choices should be checked against the colour selected on the product page, rather than assumed to apply to every unit.

Both phones list dual stereo speakers, Dolby Atmos, NFC and dual physical nano-SIM support. They also share a USB Type-C port. Those common features remain part of the comparison even though the additional telephoto camera and wireless charging are more conspicuous changes.

What the published information establishes

The pages list IP68 and IP69 protection for both devices, along with Gorilla Glass 7i. They also state one year of handset warranty and six months for accessories. Neither the protection ratings nor the warranty duration establishes how a particular accidental-damage claim would be decided.

At the selected prices, the official sheets describe a closely related pair with specific camera and charging differences. A performance verdict would require comparable hands-on testing. This article reports the current Indian listings and the hardware distinctions those listings can support.
