NEW DELHI: The MG ZS EV costs between Rs 17,99,000 and Rs 20,74,600 across four variants, according to JSW MG Motor India's website. Under MG's Battery as a Service (BaaS) plan, the electric SUV starts at Rs 13 lakh plus Rs 4.5 for every kilometre driven. Price as of 21 October 2026, 12:45 AM IST.

The ZS EV is a five-seat electric SUV with a 50.3 kWh battery and a claimed range of 461 km on a single charge. MG lists 0 to 100 kmph in 8.5 seconds, and the top variant gets Level 2 driver assistance features.

MG ZS EV price list, every variant

Executive: Rs 17,99,000, or Rs 13.00 lakh plus Rs 4.5 per km on BaaS. It gets the 25.7 cm HD touchscreen, MG's i-Smart system and a digital key with Bluetooth.

Excite Pro: Rs 18,74,600, or Rs 13.50 lakh plus Rs 4.5 per km on BaaS. This variant adds the dual-pane panoramic sunroof and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. MG's list notes that the JBL speaker system on this variant is a dealer fitment.

Exclusive Plus: Rs 19,99,600, or Rs 14.50 lakh plus Rs 4.5 per km on BaaS.

Essence: Rs 20,74,600, or Rs 15.50 lakh plus Rs 4.5 per km on BaaS. It is offered with grey or ivory interiors at the same price, and it is the variant with Level 2 ADAS, including adaptive cruise control, bend cruise assistance and traffic jam assist.

The gap between the outright price and the BaaS upfront price is not the same on every variant. It is Rs 4,99,000 on the Executive, Rs 5,24,600 on the Excite Pro, Rs 5,49,600 on the Exclusive Plus and Rs 5,24,600 on the Essence. MG's page also carries an EMI calculator that shows a different starting figure, so we have used the variant list for the prices above.

Battery, charging and hardware

The motor produces 176.75 PS and 280 Nm. The ZS EV charges through a Type 2 plus CCS connector. MG's specification table gives 8.5 to 9 hours for a full charge on a 7.4 kW AC charger, and about 60 minutes to reach 80% on a 50 kW DC fast charger. MG's own FAQ on the same page gives slightly different charging estimates, so treat these as approximate.

The same FAQ says real-world range is between 350 km and 420 km, depending on road conditions, speed and use of the air conditioning. That is a useful reality check against the 461 km claimed figure. The battery warranty is 8 years or 1,50,000 km, whichever comes first, for the first registered owner.

Safety equipment listed by MG includes six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, hill descent control and a 360-degree camera. The SUV rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with 215/55 R17 tyres and has disc brakes at the front and rear. The driver gets a full digital instrument cluster with a 17.78 cm screen. The body measures 4,323 mm long, 1,809 mm wide and 1,649 mm tall, on a 2,585 mm wheelbase, with McPherson strut front and torsion beam rear suspension.

Outright purchase or BaaS

At Rs 4.5 per km, driving 1,500 km a month adds Rs 6,750 a month in battery charges, or Rs 81,000 a year, before electricity costs. On the Executive, the Rs 4,99,000 saved upfront would be used up in a little over six years at that distance. Owners who drive less take longer to reach that point.

Before choosing BaaS, read the plan terms carefully, including how the battery charge is billed, any minimum usage commitment and what happens at resale. Also ask for an on-road quote, since MG's listed prices do not include insurance, registration or a home charger.
