NEW DELHI: The Maruti Suzuki WagonR costs Rs 4,98,900 to Rs 7,23,900 ex-showroom across its 10 versions. The cheapest is the LXi manual with the 998 cc petrol engine, and the most expensive is the new WagonR Bioflex flex-fuel version. Every version now comes with six airbags. Price as of 23 October 2026, 2:30 AM IST, on Maruti Suzuki's official Arena WagonR price page.
These are starting ex-showroom prices from Maruti Suzuki. The on-road price will be higher once registration, road tax and insurance are added, and it varies by state and city. Metallic and dual-tone paint can change the final figure.
Maruti WagonR petrol price list
WagonR LXi MT (998 cc): Rs 4,98,900.
WagonR VXi MT (998 cc): Rs 5,54,400.
WagonR ZXi MT (1197 cc): Rs 5,98,400.
WagonR ZXi+ MT (1197 cc): Rs 6,52,400.
The LXi and VXi use the smaller 998 cc petrol engine. The ZXi and ZXi+ move to the 1197 cc K12N engine, which Maruti rates at 66.9 kW (90.9 PS). So the step from VXi to ZXi, about Rs 44,000, buys both a bigger engine and more equipment.
Maruti WagonR AGS automatic price list
WagonR VXi AGS (998 cc): Rs 5,99,400.
WagonR ZXi AGS (1197 cc): Rs 6,43,400.
WagonR ZXi+ AGS (1197 cc): Rs 6,97,400.
AGS is Maruti's automated manual gearbox. On every trim the AGS costs Rs 45,000 more than the matching manual. The automatic versions also list Hill Hold Assist among their key features. The VXi AGS, at just under Rs 6 lakh, is the cheapest way into a two-pedal WagonR.
Maruti WagonR CNG and Bioflex price list
WagonR LXi S-CNG (998 cc): Rs 5,93,900.
WagonR VXi S-CNG (998 cc): Rs 6,49,400.
WagonR Bioflex flex fuel (1197 cc, manual): Rs 7,23,900.
The factory-fitted S-CNG versions cost Rs 95,000 more than the matching petrol manuals. Both CNG versions use the 998 cc engine with a manual gearbox. The Bioflex is built to run on higher ethanol blends, and it sits at the top of the range at Rs 71,500 more than the ZXi+ manual. Mahindra has gone the CNG route too, with the XUV 3XO ZNG.
How the WagonR price gaps work
The WagonR range is easy to read once you see the pattern. Each step up a trim on the 998 cc manual, from LXi to VXi, adds Rs 55,500. Moving from the VXi to the ZXi costs Rs 44,000 and changes the engine. Adding the AGS gearbox costs Rs 45,000 on every trim, and adding factory CNG costs Rs 95,000. The spread from the cheapest to the costliest version is Rs 2,25,000.
That means a buyer who wants the bigger engine and an automatic, the ZXi AGS at Rs 6,43,400, pays Rs 1,44,500 more than the base LXi. A buyer who only wants CNG pays Rs 5,93,900 for the LXi S-CNG, still under Rs 6 lakh ex-showroom.
What every WagonR gets
Six airbags are standard on all 10 versions. The equipment lists also show ABS with EBD, Electronic Stability Program with Hill Hold Control, side and curtain airbags, seat belt reminders for front and rear seats and reverse parking sensors. Idle start stop is listed on the petrol versions. The ZXi+, ZXi+ AGS and Bioflex get the 17.78 cm SmartPlay Studio touchscreen, while the ZXi has the Smart Play Dock.
Maruti lists a claimed fuel efficiency of 23.56 km/l for the 1197 cc petrol manual. Real-world figures will be lower in city traffic.
Which WagonR version to buy
If you want the lowest price with full safety kit, the LXi at Rs 4,98,900 already has six airbags and ESP. For most family buyers the ZXi at Rs 5,98,400 is the sweet spot, because it brings the bigger engine for about Rs 1 lakh over the base car. City drivers who want an automatic should look at the VXi AGS or ZXi AGS. High-mileage users who can get CNG nearby should consider the LXi S-CNG, keeping in mind that CNG prices have been rising.
The WagonR competes with hatchbacks like the Hyundai Exter, which starts at Rs 5,80,600. Compare on-road quotes from dealers before you book.
