NEW DELHI: The Kia Sonet starts at Rs 7,44,900 ex-showroom across India, and its eight trims start between Rs 7,44,900 for the HTE and Rs 13,88,900 for the X-Line, according to Kia India's official Sonet page. Kia describes the Rs 7,44,900 figure as the all-India ex-showroom price after the GST cut. Price as of 23 October 2026, 2:00 AM IST, on Kia India's Sonet page.

Kia lists each trim with a "Starting MSRP", the price of its cheapest engine and gearbox combination. Versions with the turbo petrol, diesel or an automatic within each trim cost more, and Kia's configurator on the same site shows the exact figure for each one.

Kia Sonet price list by trim, October 2026

HTE: from Rs 7,44,900. HTE (O): from Rs 7,87,900. HTK (O): from Rs 8,88,900. HTK+: from Rs 9,27,900.

HTK+ (O): from Rs 9,75,900. HTX: from Rs 11,59,900. GTX+: from Rs 13,74,900. X-Line: from Rs 13,88,900.

The spread from the base HTE to the X-Line is Rs 6,44,000. The biggest single jump is from HTK+ (O) to HTX, at Rs 1,84,000, and the next is HTX to GTX+, at Rs 2,15,000.

The lower steps are smaller. The HTE (O) costs Rs 43,000 more than the HTE, the HTK+ Rs 39,000 more than the HTK (O), and the HTK+ (O) Rs 48,000 more than the HTK+. At the top, the X-Line starts just Rs 14,000 above the GTX+, so the choice there is mostly about styling.

Engines and gearboxes

Kia offers three engines on the Sonet. The Smartstream 1.2 petrol makes 61 kW and 115 Nm, the Smartstream 1.0 T-GDi turbo petrol makes 88 kW and 172 Nm, and the 1.5 CRDi VGT diesel makes 85 kW and 250 Nm, according to the Sonet page. Kia lists five transmissions across the range: a 5-speed manual, 6-speed manual, 6-speed iMT clutchless manual, 7-speed DCT and 6-speed automatic.

What each trim adds

The base HTE already lists six airbags, electronic stability control with hill assist, ISOFIX mounts, tyre pressure monitoring and a 4.2-inch colour instrument cluster. Kia says all six airbags are standard across the range. The HTE (O) adds rear power windows, Star Map LED DRLs and rear door sunshades.

The HTK (O) brings automatic climate control, auto headlamps, a rear camera and an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The HTK+ adds a wireless phone charger, smart key with push-button start and semi-leatherette seats, with remote engine start on the diesel. The HTK+ (O) moves to LED headlamps, LED fog lamps, leatherette seats and a dash cam.

The HTX lists front ventilated seats, cruise control, rear disc brakes and an air purifier, with traction modes on automatic versions. The GTX+ and X-Line add Level 1 ADAS with 10 functions, a 360-degree camera with blind view monitor, a 10.25-inch digital cluster and a 10.25-inch touchscreen. The GTX+ lists a seven-speaker Bose system, and the X-Line lists 16-inch crystal-cut alloys.

Which Sonet to choose

The HTK (O) at Rs 8,88,900 is the first trim with the touchscreen and connected phone features most buyers expect, Rs 1,44,000 above the base car. Buyers who want ventilated seats and cruise control can stop at the HTX. ADAS and the 360-degree camera are limited to the two top trims, so buyers who want those must budget at least Rs 13,74,900 before taxes. Families who mainly want safety basics get the full six-airbag set from the base HTE.

The Sonet's price band matches the Hyundai Venue, which starts at Rs 7,99,900 in our Venue price list, and the Mahindra XUV 3XO, covered in our XUV 3XO price report. Kia's own Syros starts at Rs 8,41,900.

On-road price

On-road prices will be higher because registration, road tax and insurance are added and vary by state. Ask the dealer for an itemised quote on the exact engine and gearbox you want, since the trim starting prices above cover only the cheapest version of each. The full details are on Kia India's official Sonet page.
