Jeep India has allocated all 25 Wrangler Rubicon Whitecap Edition SUVs earmarked for the country, closing out the limited batch ahead of launch. The company announced the sell-out on 13 October and said deliveries through authorised Jeep dealerships would begin by the end of October 2026.
The Whitecap Edition was priced at Rs 73.55 lakh, ex-showroom, price as of 13 October 2026, 15:02 IST. That is the announced edition price, not an on-road quotation or an offer of remaining stock. Jeep's dated announcement confirms that the cars have been spoken for; it does not say all 25 have already reached their owners.
Mojito Green with a white roof and grille
The edition is offered exclusively in Mojito Green, paired with a Bright White painted hardtop and Bright White seven-slot grille. Exterior graphics and Whitecap detailing complete the treatment. Jeep traces the colour combination to the CJ-Universal and its Arctic White top, making the exterior finish the defining feature of this Rubicon-based edition.
Jeep places the Whitecap announcement in its 10th anniversary year in India and its wider 85-year heritage. The company says Indian customers join a group of 250 Whitecap owners worldwide. Its sell-out statement, however, concerns the 25-car Indian allocation and does not establish that every Whitecap vehicle worldwide has been sold.
The release describes a styling-led edition and does not announce a new engine or higher output. For mechanical context, Jeep's current India specification sheet lists the standard Rubicon with a 2.0-litre petrol engine producing 270 hp and 400 Nm, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Those are established Rubicon specifications, rather than powertrain changes introduced by Whitecap.
The Rubicon column also lists Rock-Trac full-time four-wheel drive, Tru-Lok locking front and rear differentials, and an electronically disconnectable front sway bar. Its equipment includes heavy-duty Dana 44 axles and a Dana 44HD full-float rear axle. These details identify the off-road hardware of the underlying variant.
The same sheet separates the Rubicon's 17-inch black-painted machined aluminium wheels and 255/75 R17 mud-terrain tyres from the Unlimited variant's wheel specification. An integrated off-road camera is also listed for the Rubicon. Reading the variant columns matters because the general Wrangler pages cover more than one version of the SUV.
Inside, the current Rubicon specification includes Uconnect 5 with a 12.3-inch touchscreen, navigation and smartphone connectivity. It also lists 12-way powered front seats, heated front seats and a heated steering wheel. These features describe the existing cabin equipment; the Whitecap release does not present them as additions exclusive to the special edition.
Current Wrangler safety information lists six airbags, including side-curtain coverage for the first and second rows. Adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning and advanced brake assist also appear in Jeep's published equipment information.
The booking form has not caught up with the release
Jeep's linked Whitecap pre-booking microsite still displayed a form and a Rs 50,000 booking amount when checked on 13 October. That interface should not be read as confirmation that an unallocated car remains available. The newer company announcement explicitly says the full Indian batch is sold out.
The microsite also carries older wording saying deliveries were expected to commence from 12 October, subject to availability. Jeep's 13 October release gives the updated timetable: deliveries will begin by the end of the month. Customers with an allocation should seek their individual handover date from the authorised dealership, since the announcement does not give a date for each vehicle.
Another Indian allocation is only being explored
Kumar Priyesh, Business Head and Director, Automotive Brands, Stellantis India, said customer interest was encouraging the company to explore bringing the Whitecap expression back to India. That leaves open the possibility of a return, but Jeep has not announced a second batch, its size or a fresh booking date.
For context on other edition-specific launches, Dalimss News has covered the Toyota Fortuner Leader Edition's prices and booking announcement and MINI Cooper Oxford Edition's India booking opening. For the Whitecap's allocated customers, the next confirmed step is the start of dealership deliveries this month. Anyone seeking a car from a later allocation will need a further announcement from Jeep.
