GURUGRAM: GMDA's public water tanker portal displays different totals for Saturday, November 7, 2026, in its daily summary and detailed booking records. The detailed rows include water sources at Basai and Sector 16 and destinations in Sectors 53, 62, 63A, 66, 68, 80, 93, 105 and 108. Checked on Sunday, November 8, at 08:29 IST, they show why residents and project managers need to distinguish the two views before using the figures.
Adding the 12 visible detailed entries dated November 7 gives 49 in the tanker column, 820,000 litres and Rs 18,000 in recorded payments. The summary for the same date displays 90 tankers, 1,405,000 litres and Rs 46,050. The official page does not explain the difference, identify which view is complete, or state whether both views use the same reporting cut off.
What the dated entries show
The calculation here uses only rows carrying the date November 7 in the detailed table on GMDA's official water tanker booking page. It is an independent addition of the displayed records, not a statement from GMDA reconciling its accounts. The figures describe portal entries; they do not independently establish that water reached every listed destination.
| November 7 view | Tanker column total | Litres | Amount |
|---|---|---|---|
| 12 visible detailed entries, added together | 49 | 820,000 | Rs 18,000 |
| Daily summary displayed by GMDA | 90 | 1,405,000 | Rs 46,050 |
The difference between the two displayed views is 41 tankers, 585,000 litres and Rs 28,050. Those differences cannot be described as missing water, unpaid bills or a financial loss. The page does not supply the reporting explanation needed to make any of those claims, and the detailed table may represent a different scope from the summary.
Within the detailed entries, Water Works Basai accounts for three tankers, 45,000 litres and Rs 3,000. These appear in two rows for a Sector 105 address, one recording 15,000 litres and the other 30,000 litres. Boosting Station Sector 16 accounts for one further tanker, 15,000 litres and Rs 1,000. Together, those two drinking water sources contribute 60,000 litres in the visible rows.
STP Dhanwapur accounts for 12 tankers and 270,000 litres, with Rs 8,100 recorded. Of that quantity, a Sector 108 project entry shows 250,000 litres against ten tankers. A separate entry for a Sector 93 project shows 20,000 litres against two tankers. These records concern a sewage treatment plant source and should not be combined with the drinking water subtotal without identifying the water type.
STP Beharampur accounts for 18 tankers, 90,000 litres and Rs 2,700. Its five November 7 entries include 50,000 litres for Sector 63A, 15,000 litres for Sector 62, 5,000 litres for Sector 68, and 10,000 litres each for Sector 53 and Sector 66. These are the addresses entered in the booking records, rather than a survey of water availability across those sectors.
The common effluent treatment plant entries account for another 15 tankers, 400,000 litres and Rs 3,200. One lists 250,000 litres for a Sector 80 project; the other lists 150,000 litres for a construction and demolition waste processing facility at Basai. These two entries make up nearly half of the volume in the detailed November 7 rows.
Drinking water and treated water are separate services
GMDA's service description identifies potable water sources at Basai Water Works and the Sector 16 and Sector 51 boosting stations. It lists raw or canal water at Chandu Budhera, recycled water at Dhanwapur and Beharampur, and CETP treated water at Manesar. The nonpotable categories are listed for construction or landscape irrigation, not drinking.
The authority says tanker supply serves colonies under construction or places where pipelines have not yet been extended. Only registered users can book through this service. The page links a user manual and says the process is online, with no manual transaction at the filling station. The entries reviewed do not establish a universal household tanker tariff or an emergency delivery time.
What residents can establish from the records
The portal is useful for checking dated source, quantity and payment entries, but its current views cannot support a single reconciled November 7 total. GMDA's homepage lists grievance assistance on 18001801817. A person seeking clarification can identify the date, table and entry concerned without assuming that a booking entry proves either a shortage or completed delivery.
For context, earlier local reporting covered an AIT Chowk pipeline repair, the Bhimgarh Khedi sewer tender, and an interim power supply order. These are separate utility developments. None explains the difference between the two tanker tables.
