VARANASI: IIT (BHU) published provisional eligibility decisions for five categories of staff posts on Friday, November 6, 2026, giving applicants rejected at screening until November 11 at 11:59 pm IST to submit representations with supporting documents. For candidates seeking work at the institute in the BHU campus near Lanka, the immediate task is to find their application number in the correct list and check the stated reason for exclusion.

The notices cover Assistant Librarian, Principal System Analyst, Senior System Analyst, System Analyst and Hindi Officer posts under Advertisement 02/2026-27. Together, the five categories account for eight advertised vacancies. Each notice carries its own representation form, so applicants should use the link attached to their post code rather than assume there is one form for the entire recruitment.

Applicants whose numbers appear in the eligible section also have work to do. The Registrar's notices require original qualifications and employment records at verification, including evidence of service at the prescribed pay level. A provisional place on the list can still be lost if those records do not establish the required experience.

Which list applicants should open

The institute's official alerts page groups the five notices in its November 6 entry. They concern an existing recruitment exercise advertised on July 11. The application deadline in each document was September 2 at 5 pm. This latest stage is scrutiny of applications already received, with an opportunity to challenge an exclusion.

Principal System Analyst26110One unreserved
Senior System Analyst26111Two unreserved

Hindi Officer26115One unreserved

The Assistant Librarian notice lists 28 provisionally eligible application numbers. Reasons recorded against excluded applicants include missing experience at Level 7, insufficient experience at that level, age eligibility and missing NET qualification. Candidates should read their own row carefully because the document does not give the same reason for every exclusion.

For Principal System Analyst, four application numbers appear in the eligible list. Its exclusion table includes insufficient experience, lack of relevant experience, qualification issues and pay level mismatches. The Senior System Analyst notice lists 17 eligible application numbers and records reasons including insufficient experience, age and educational criteria against applicants found ineligible.

The System Analyst document separates its eligible applicants into unreserved, OBC NCL and SC categories. Its exclusion reasons include insufficient experience and qualifications that do not meet the requirements. Applicants should therefore match both their post code and the relevant category before drawing a conclusion from a search of the PDF.

The Hindi Officer notice lists 43 eligible application numbers. Among reasons for exclusion are experience that does not meet the advertised criteria, postgraduate marks below 55 per cent and missing proof of studying English at degree level. These are the institute's screening findings, against which the stated representation route is available.

What applicants should do before November 11

First, compare the application number on the original submission with the number in the appropriate November 6 PDF. The lists identify applicants by application number. Keep that record available while checking the eligible and ineligible sections, rather than looking only for a name.

If the application is marked ineligible, assemble evidence that directly addresses the reason entered against it. The notices ask for representations accompanied by supporting documents and give the same closing time, November 11 at 11:59 pm. Open the Google Form from the relevant official PDF. The five notices provide different form links for the five post codes.

For verification, the institute specifically asks for original experience certificates that state the pay or salary level and the period of service at the required level or above. It also names pay slips, joining letters specifying pay level and salary, and other documents that establish qualifications and relevant experience. Candidates whose certificates omit those details should identify the gap while organising their records.

The warning applies even to those provisionally found eligible: ambiguous, inconsistent or insufficient employment evidence can lead to disqualification. The November 6 documents are eligibility lists and representation notices. They do not announce a final appointment result or provide a new application window.

Keep separate institute processes separate

Readers following other recent campus decisions can also consult the earlier reports on scholarship and refund approval responsibilities, the postgraduate grievance panel and the equal opportunity cell. Those reports concern other institutional processes. For this recruitment stage, applicants should follow the Registrar's November 6 post-specific notices and their November 11 representation deadline.
