Gurugram University has set a fresh calendar for B.Ed. and M.Ed. admissions in its affiliated colleges for 2026-27, and it ends on 28 October. After that date, no college may admit a student to either programme. A student who wants a seat in a Gurugram-affiliated education college has just one more day of open counselling, 10 October.
The university's Academic Branch issued the revised admission schedule on 8 October 2026. It refers to an earlier letter of 26 August and replaces the dates in it. Colleges and institutes of education that are affiliated to the university have been marked on the notice.
How the four windows work
From 1 to 10 October, colleges can hold physical or open counselling, if they need it. Fees must be deposited in the allotted institute on the same day as the counselling.
Seats that stay vacant after the open counselling of 10 October can be filled on merit by the principals from 11 to 14 October. The college must pay the university a late fee of Rs 1,000 along with the Registration Return.
From 15 to 17 October, late admissions are allowed on merit by the principal or director, and the late fee rises to Rs 2,000.
The last window is 18 to 28 October. Admission in special cases is possible only if the Vice Chancellor approves, on the request of the principal or director. The late fee is Rs 5,000 for each student, and the list of admitted students has to go to the university with the Registration Return.
The 28 October cut-off
The notice says no college or institute can admit anyone after 28 October. The reason given is the statutory minimum number of teaching days in a semester. If teaching days fall short for any unforeseen reason, the principal or director must make up the loss with extra classes.
For students, the practical point is that the cost of getting in rises with every window. A seat taken in the first days is cleaner, and later entries depend on the college agreeing to carry the late fee and, in the last window, on the Vice Chancellor's nod.
Who the notice is addressed to
The letter, numbered GUG/Acad./2026/337, is signed by the Assistant Registrar (Academics) for the Registrar. Copies went to the Dean of Academic Affairs, the chairperson of the Department of Education, all principals of affiliated education colleges, and the Samarth nodal officer, among others.
A student does not apply to the university for these seats. The college handles the admission, collects the fee, and sends the record to the university, so the first call should be to the college.
What colleges must file
Colleges must send hard copies of the full records of every admitted student, with verified fee details, to the Academic Branch before 5 PM on the last day of each counselling window from the first to the fourth. If a college misses this, the notice says no request to accept the records will be entertained, and the admissions concerned will be treated as cancelled.
That line should matter to students, too. A student who has paid a fee should ask the college that the record has gone to the university on time, and should keep the fee receipt and the allotment or admission slip.
The list of all admitted students, along with the Registration Return, will be uploaded on the university portal under a schedule to be notified by the university's Registration and Scrutiny branch. The notice adds that an extension in the admission date will not extend the last date for the Registration Return or Continuation Return.
All other conditions follow the admission guidelines for B.Ed. and M.Ed. programmes in affiliated education colleges for 2026-27. The notice does not give seat numbers or fees.
The same university has also put out a date sheet for special chance PG re-appear exams and a 16 October deadline for December re-appear forms, if you are a student at one of its colleges.
