BENGALURU: Google's Pixel 10a now costs Rs 55,999 on the Google Store in India, price as of 6 October 2026, 1:30 AM IST. That is Rs 6,000 more than the Rs 49,999 Google announced when it launched the phone in India in February.

Google's own India blog post from 18 February introduced the Pixel 10a "for just Rs 49,999" and said it would go on sale from 6 March through the Google Store, Flipkart and retail partners. The Google Store India product page now shows Rs 55,999 instead.

The store lists a single storage option, 256GB, and Google's launch post quoted one India price. Neither page points to a cheaper variant, so the two figures compare the phone as Google sells it in India.

The timing is awkward for buyers who were waiting for festive season discounts. Prices on the official store have gone up, not down, just as Amazon and Flipkart prepare their big October sales.

What Google is offering on top

The store page carries an offer line that reads "Get up to ₹6,387 in value". That breaks down into instant cashback of up to Rs 3,000 on HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank credit card EMI, plus no-cost EMI savings of up to Rs 2,387, according to the offer details on the page.

Read that carefully. The Rs 6,387 is the combined value of the cashback and the interest you would save on no-cost EMI. It is not a flat price cut, and it does not bring the phone back to its launch price for someone paying in one go with a debit card or UPI. For a cash buyer, the store price is Rs 55,999.

The bank offer also depends on the issuer's terms, the tenure and the card. Check the final payable amount at checkout before assuming you will get the full figure.

What you get for Rs 55,999

The hardware has not changed since February. Google's store page lists a 6.3-inch Actua display, the Tensor G4 chip with 8GB of RAM, a 48MP main camera with a 13MP ultrawide, and a 13MP front camera. The phone has IP68 water and dust protection and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i on the display.

Google promises seven years of OS and security updates and Pixel Drops. It quotes more than 30 hours of battery life on a charge, and up to 120 hours with Extreme Battery Saver. The colours are Lavender, Berry, Fog and Obsidian. Google's February post also said the display reaches 3,000 nits.

The update promise is the strongest argument for the phone at any price. A Pixel 10a bought this Diwali should keep getting software support well into the next decade, going by Google's stated policy.

How it sits against the Pixel 10

The same store lists the Pixel 10 at Rs 79,999, with an offer price of Rs 74,999, as we reported in our Pixel 10 India store price check. With the 10a now at Rs 55,999, the gap is Rs 24,000 at list price, or Rs 19,000 against the Pixel 10's offer price. That changes the maths for buyers who were leaning towards the cheaper phone.

The Pixel 10 adds a telephoto camera and the newer Tensor G5 chip with 12GB RAM, according to Google's comparison table. Whether that is worth the extra money depends on how much you care about zoom photos.

What to do if you want one

Marketplace listings during the festive sales may show different numbers from the Google Store. If you see a Pixel 10a deal on Flipkart or Amazon, compare it with the Rs 55,999 store figure and the Rs 49,999 launch price, and check the seller and warranty terms. Note the time you checked, because festive prices can change through the day.

Google has not commented on why the store price rose. We will update this story if the Google Store price changes during the sale period.
