DTCP Seals 17 Sites in Sushant Lok Drive

GURUGRAM: The Department of Town and Country Planning launched its third enforcement drive in Sushant Lok-1 and South City-1 on Wednesday, with three teams taking sealing and demolition action against more than 17 properties for alleged violations including unauthorised extra floors, commercial use of residential buildings, illegal paying-guest hostels and misuse of stilt parking.

The drive was led by district town planner (enforcement) Amit Madholia and followed two earlier campaigns in which around 27 properties had been sealed or subjected to demolition. Officials said Wednesday's action focused on buildings where sanctioned plans and prescribed land use were allegedly being violated. The properties included five in Sushant Lok A block, six in B block and six in South City B block.

The first team, headed by Madholia with junior engineer Ravinder, targeted Block B of Sushant Lok-1. At B-703, a stilt-plus-four-floor-and-basement building was being used as a guesthouse under the name Kyomi Service Apartment. Officials demolished unauthorised facilities on the stilt, including a reception area, toilets, dining area and kitchen, and sealed the entire building, including 28 rooms on the four upper floors.

At B-711, officials found an additional fourth floor beyond the approved construction. The building was also being used for multiple commercial activities, including a tile shop, health centre, gym, yoga centre and furniture business. The entire property was sealed. B-710, where a sports and entertainment centre, warehouse and offices were operating, was also sealed. At B-708, 12 rooms of a hotel and guesthouse were sealed. At B-583A, an office in the basement was sealed despite permission for a guesthouse, an unauthorised shop in the rear open area was demolished, and an unauthorised side entrance was sealed. At B-583, a basement function hall and rooms on the upper floors were sealed.

The second team, led by assistant town planner Divya Dahiya, acted in Block B of South City-1. Unauthorised construction on the stilt floors of B-115 and B-98A was demolished. At B-98A, 23 rooms of an alleged illegal PG operating across the first to third floors were sealed. Unauthorised structures at B-88, B-89, B-73A and B-73 were also demolished.

The third team, headed by duty magistrate and assistant town planner Naveen Kumar, carried out action in Sushant Lok-1's Block A. A-408A, being used as a guesthouse, and an unauthorised basement office at A-654 were sealed. Unauthorised rooms at A-307A and A-332A were sealed, while a worker room at A-300A was demolished.

Madholia said enforcement against violations of sanctioned building plans and unauthorised commercial activities in residential properties would continue. Colony resident associations have long complained that illegal PGs and converted stilts overload parking, water supply and fire safety. Enforcement teams said follow-up visits would check whether seals are broken or demolition debris is cleared.

Property owners who believe their premises were wrongly sealed can approach the department with sanctioned drawings and occupation certificates. Until then, commercial use inside purely residential plots remains a live enforcement target across both colonies.
