OoWah and C12 models under Rs 1.3 lakh
The OoWah EX at Rs 94,990 has a 2.3 kWh removable battery and a certified range of 105 km. It is the only BGauss model below Rs 1 lakh, and its effective price with the Rs 5,000 PM E-Drive reduction is Rs 89,990.
The C12i EX costs Rs 1,09,990 for a 2.0 kWh battery and 85 km of range. It gets a smaller PM E-Drive amount of Rs 4,750, which leaves an effective price of Rs 1,05,240. Of the seven, it has the shortest range.
The OoWah MAX Plus at Rs 1,22,990 has a 3.0 kWh removable battery and 145 km of range. The MAX C12i 2.0 at Rs 1,28,990 and the MAX C12 3.0 at Rs 1,34,990 both list a 2.7 kWh removable battery and 123 km, so the Rs 6,000 gap between them is for the model, not for a bigger battery on the page.
RUV 350 MAX and C12 MaxR at the top
The BG RUV 350 MAX costs Rs 1,43,990 and has a 3 kWh battery that does not come out of the scooter, with a certified range of 145 km. BGauss describes it as India's first RUV and the page points to its metal body and 16-inch alloy wheels.
The C12 MaxR is the flagship at Rs 1,59,990. It has a 3.8 kWh battery and a certified range of 178 km, the highest on the page. BGauss lists an introductory price of Rs 1,45,990 for it, which is Rs 14,000 below the standard ex-showroom price. The page does not give an end date for that price.
The C12 MaxR costs Rs 65,000 more than the OoWah EX, or 68.4 per cent, and offers 73 km more certified range.
What each model costs per kilometre of range
A simple way to compare the seven is to divide the effective price by the certified range. On that basis the OoWah EX works out to about Rs 857 per km of range, the C12i EX about Rs 1,238, the OoWah MAX Plus about Rs 814, the MAX C12i 2.0 about Rs 1,008, the MAX C12 3.0 about Rs 1,057, the RUV 350 MAX about Rs 959 and the C12 MaxR about Rs 871. This is our own arithmetic on the page's figures, not a BGauss claim, and certified range is not what you will see in daily traffic.
By that measure the OoWah EX and the OoWah MAX Plus give the most certified range for the money, while the C12i EX gives the least. The MAX C12 3.0 and the MAX C12i 2.0 list the same battery and range, so the cheaper MAX C12i 2.0 is the better value on paper unless the dealer explains a feature difference.
Warranty, finance and dealers
BGauss lists an extended battery warranty of up to 5 years or 1 lakh km, subject to its terms, and finance with EMIs starting at Rs 2,699. The company says it has more than 200 dealerships across India.
