New DCPs for South Gurugram, Manesar

GURUGRAM: South Gurugram and Manesar have new deputy commissioners of police after the Haryana government transferred 46 police officers on Sunday, according to Home Department orders issued by Additional Chief Secretary Home Sudhir Rajpal.

Ayush Yadav, a 2022-batch IPS officer, has been posted as DCP South, Gurugram. He was earlier DCP East, Sonipat, with additional charge as superintendent of police in the Haryana State Narcotics Control Bureau. He replaces Hitesh Yadav, an HPS officer, who has been moved as DCP Bahadurgarh against a vacant post.

Manesar charge and related city moves

Prateek Gahlot, who was DCP Traffic Gurugram and in-charge of the Mirror Emergency Response Centre, has been posted as DCP Manesar. He will also hold additional charge as commandant of the 4th India Reserve Battalion at Manesar. He replaces Parbina P., who has been posted as SP, Government Railway Police, Ambala Cantt.

The first order covers around seven IPS officers and related HPS moves. A second order transfers 36 HPS officers. In Gurugram, Anil Kumar, DSP Palwal, has been posted as ACP Gurugram. Abhilaksh Joshi, who was ACP Gurugram, has been shifted to Barara as DSP.

Gurugram is also losing Rajesh Kumar, a 2014-batch IPS officer who was SP, State Crime Branch, with additional charges covering community policing, outreach and security in the city. He has been posted as SP Law and Order, Panchkula, with related STF and social outreach responsibilities there.

In Faridabad, which often shares operational coordination with Gurugram district policing, Rajesh Mohan (IPS 2021 batch) is the new DCP Central, while Jaibir Singh moves from DCP Traffic to DCP Crime. Usha Devi, the outgoing DCP Central, has been posted as SP State Crime Branch and SP Social Outreach.

The government also cancelled three transfers dated 10 July 2026 insofar as they related to DSPs Kanwaljit Singh, Virender Sharma and Akshay Kumar. The transfer and cancellation orders took effect immediately.

For residents, the South Gurugram and Manesar changes matter because those charges cover dense residential sectors, industrial belts and highway corridors that generate a large share of the district's day-to-day crime, traffic and emergency-response load. New officers typically review pending FIRs, beat maps and hotspot lists in their first weeks. Officials said the reshuffle is part of a wider statewide police posting exercise rather than a response to a single local incident.

South Gurugram policing includes several high-density residential sectors and commercial belts that generate frequent calls on property crime, road rage and late-night public order. Manesar, by contrast, mixes industrial townships, highway traffic and the IRB campus, so the dual DCP and commandant charge is operationally heavy from day one. Traffic and Mirror Emergency Response Centre work that Gahlot handled in the city will need a fresh allocation under the new Traffic leadership once the posting settles.

Police transfers of this scale usually take a few days to reflect on public notice boards and helpline scripts. Until then, complainants should continue to use the existing police station and control-room channels. The Home Department orders leave no doubt on the named postings: Yadav for South Gurugram and Gahlot for Manesar with the 4th IRB additional charge.
