NEW DELHI: AppleCare+ for the new iPhone Duo costs Rs 51,900 in India, according to Apple's online store, the highest price for any iPhone plan. For the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and iPhone Air, the plan is Rs 25,900, while it is Rs 19,900 for the iPhone 17 and iPhone 16 and Rs 16,900 for the iPhone 17e. Price as of 21 October 2026, 12:45 AM IST.

The figures matter this week because the iPhone Duo, which starts at Rs 2,99,900, goes on sale on 23 October. Apple offers AppleCare+ as an add-on on each iPhone buy page. Even with a plan, each claim carries its own service fee, which Apple lists separately in its India terms.

AppleCare+ prices for each iPhone in India

These are the AppleCare+ prices shown on Apple's India buy pages for each model. iPhone 17e: Rs 16,900. iPhone 17 and iPhone 16: Rs 19,900. iPhone Air: Rs 25,900. iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max: Rs 25,900. iPhone Duo: Rs 51,900.

Apple's buy pages also show a monthly figure, from Rs 1,658 a month for the iPhone 17 plan and from Rs 4,709 a month for the iPhone Duo plan. Apple's AppleCare page lists plain AppleCare+ either monthly or for two years, and the version with theft and loss cover either monthly or annually. The monthly plans run until they are cancelled.

Seen against the phone price, the Duo plan works out to about 17% of the Rs 2,99,900 base model. For the iPhone 17 at Rs 99,900, the Rs 19,900 plan is close to 20% of the phone price. The Duo plan is also Rs 26,000 more than the plan for the iPhone 18 Pro Max, which is the next most expensive iPhone in Apple's India range.

What AppleCare+ covers and what it costs to claim

Apple says AppleCare+ for iPhone includes unlimited repairs for accidental damage such as drops and spills, battery replacement at no extra charge, and priority support. The battery benefit applies when the battery holds less than 80% of its original capacity. Apple also lists pickup and delivery for repairs, and same-day repairs where available.

Unlimited does not mean free. Apple's India fee schedule sets a service fee for each iPhone claim. Front display and back glass damage costs Rs 2,500. Damage to the cover layer alone costs Rs 1,900. Inner display damage costs Rs 8,900, and any other accidental damage also costs Rs 8,900.

Plain AppleCare+ does not cover theft or loss. For that, Apple sells AppleCare+ with Theft and Loss, which is insured by Tata AIG in India. It allows a replacement up to twice a year, and each theft or loss claim carries a Rs 15,900 service fee.

When you can buy it

You can add AppleCare+ when you buy the phone from Apple. Apple's page says that for 60 days after a new purchase, you can also take out a plan through the Settings app on the iPhone. That gives buyers some time to decide after the phone arrives, rather than at the checkout screen.

Some numbers to work through before deciding. If you are likely to crack the front or back glass once over two years, the cost is the plan price plus Rs 2,500. A single inner display repair adds Rs 8,900 on top of the plan. Compare those totals with Apple's out-of-warranty repair charges for your model, which Apple publishes on its support pages, and with any cover your bank card or home insurance already gives you.

Plan prices, fees and terms are set by Apple and can change. The figures here are the ones displayed on Apple's India store and legal pages at the time of checking.
