BENGALURU: Apple will pay up to Rs 81,500 in trade-in credit for an iPhone 17 Pro Max in India, and up to Rs 37,000 for a Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, according to the estimates on its Apple Trade In page. Across iPhones, Apple lists credit from Rs 4,500 to Rs 81,500, and for Android phones from Rs 3,000 to Rs 37,000. These are Apple's estimates, trade-in price as of 20 October 2026, 12:31 AM IST.

These are the maximum figures. Apple says the final amount depends on the device, model, manufacturer and condition, and it checks the phone before the credit is confirmed. The credit goes towards a new Apple purchase, online or at an Apple Store.

Apple Trade In values for iPhones

Apple's page names four recent iPhones with their top estimates: up to Rs 81,500 for the iPhone 17 Pro Max, up to Rs 67,000 for the iPhone 17 Pro, up to Rs 55,500 for the iPhone Air and up to Rs 45,000 for the iPhone 17. Older or damaged phones get less, down to the Rs 4,500 floor Apple shows for iPhones that still qualify for credit.

Apple says that if a device is not eligible for any credit, it will recycle it for free, along with other old devices and accessories you no longer use.

Trade-in values for Android phones

Apple takes some Android phones too, including Samsung and Google models. The examples on its India page are up to Rs 37,000 for a Galaxy S24 Ultra, up to Rs 16,500 for a Galaxy S23, up to Rs 11,000 for a OnePlus 11R and up to Rs 7,000 for a OnePlus Nord CE3.

For a Galaxy S24 Ultra owner thinking about an iPhone this Diwali, Rs 37,000 is the most Apple will offer, and only for a phone in good condition. Get a quote from more than one place before you hand over a phone, because the trade-in value is the one part of the deal you can shop around for.

Online or in store: what you can trade where

In India, Apple accepts iPhone trade-ins both on apple.com and at its retail stores. Mac portables, iPad and Apple Watch can only be traded in at an Apple Store, not online, according to the FAQ on the trade-in page.

If you get an estimate online and then walk into a store, a Specialist checks the device on the spot. Apple warns that the in-store credit may differ from the online estimate if the condition does not match what you described. Apple's terms also say you must be of the age of majority to trade in, and a valid photo ID is needed in store.

If an online trade-in fails Apple's diagnostic test, or its condition does not match your answers, Apple gives you two options. You can accept the revised value and pay the difference between the credit you already got and the new value, or you can keep your old device and pay back the full instant credit.

How trade-in credit works with bank offers

Trade-in credit lowers the amount you pay, and that can change how much a card offer gives you. In the terms for its current iPhone Duo sale, Apple says the transaction value for the instant cashback is calculated after any trade-in credit or eligible discount is applied. So a large trade-in can push your bill below a cashback threshold, and you should check the cart total before you pay.

Engraved Apple devices are accepted. Apple says engraving it did itself does not affect the value, though engraving done by someone else may lower it.

Before you trade in

Back up your phone, sign out of your Apple Account or Google account, and erase it. Apple's page links to its own guide on backing up, moving and erasing data. Note your serial number from Settings, then General, then About on an iPhone, iPad or Apple Watch, so you can track the trade-in. Answer the condition questions honestly, since Apple can lower the value after inspection.
