Adampur Police Arrest 29-Year-Old in POCSO Case From Rajghat Colony

Adampur police have arrested a 29-year-old man living in the Kashi Station Colony pocket of Rajghat in a Protection of Children from Sexual Offences case registered this month.

A Commissionerate brief circulated on Sunday names the accused as Rohit Kumar, son of Lakhendar Rai. His permanent address is given as Sabbalpur, Sonpur, Saran district in Bihar, with a present address at quarter T-24E in Kashi Station Colony under Adampur police station. He was taken into custody near Ansarbad Mod on 19 September, the note said, with the public update published the following day.

The case on record is Crime No. 167/2026 at Adampur. Sections cited include multiple provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita alongside sections of the POCSO Act. The brief says the FIR followed a written complaint alleging serious sexual offences involving minors. Details that could identify the complainants or the children are being withheld here.

Station House Officer Vimal Kumar Mishra led the arrest party with sub-inspector Prashant Pandey and supporting constables, according to the same note. Police said necessary legal process after the arrest was under way.
