Varanasi Round Table 196 and Varanasi Ladies Circle 129 came together for a community service initiative aimed at supporting Kanwariyas passing through the city during their annual pilgrimage.

Members of the two organisations distributed 3,000 juice cans, along with other refreshments and essential supplies, to help devotees cope with the physical demands of the journey. The drive was carried out in the presence of the Area Chairman, VRT 196 Chairman Shree Agrawal, VLC 129 Chairperson Tanushree Agarwal Rai and fellow Tablers and Circlers.

Anyone who has witnessed the Kanwar Yatra up close knows how punishing the journey can be. The kilometres covered on foot, the humidity and the sheer exhaustion make something as simple as a cold drink genuinely valuable. Throughout the initiative, members personally handed refreshments to the pilgrims and spent time interacting with them.

The 3,000 juice cans distributed during the drive were provided by BD Group of Industries, whose contribution helped the two organisations serve a substantial number of devotees.

For VRT 196 and VLC 129, the activity was not simply about distributing refreshments. It was an opportunity to participate in one of the region’s most significant annual pilgrimages through practical, on-ground service.

In Varanasi, faith is rarely confined to temples or rituals. During the Kanwar season, it spills onto the streets and brings the entire city into the journey. Initiatives such as this may appear modest against the scale of the pilgrimage, but for a tired Kanwariya pausing along the way, a timely drink and a welcoming hand can make a meaningful difference.
