VARANASI — Tensions flared within the high-security Varanasi Kachahri (District Court) premises on Tuesday, as a violent clash erupted between two opposing factions over an ongoing land dispute. The physical confrontation rapidly escalated into a bloody brawl, leaving a practicing advocate seriously injured.

The incident unfolded in full view of litigants and court staff, triggering panic across the judicial complex.

From Argument to Bloody Brawl

According to eyewitnesses, members of both groups had arrived at the court premises in connection with a disputed property matter. What began as a heated verbal altercation quickly spun out of control. Within minutes, the dispute escalated into a physical confrontation as both sides began trading blows.

During the ensuing melee, a local advocate aligned with one of the factions was targeted and sustained severe impact injuries, leaving him covered in blood on the court grounds.

Emergency Evacuation and Police Intervention

The violent outburst led to immediate chaos inside the compound, with fellow lawyers and bystanders rushing to intervene and separate the clashing groups. The injured lawyer was quickly rescued from the spot and shifted to a nearby hospital, where medical staff immediately admitted him for emergency treatment.
