Varanasi Youth Arrested After Viral Reel Showing Pistol; ACP Dashashwamedh Warns Against Weapon Display on Social Media

Varanasi: A young man in Varanasi was arrested after a video showing him waving a pistol while making a social media reel went viral online. The incident drew the attention of the police, who took prompt action against the accused for creating panic and sending the wrong message through social media.
According to police officials, the youth was seen displaying a pistol in a public place while recording a reel intended for social media platforms. The video quickly circulated online, raising concerns among local residents and authorities.
Speaking on the matter, ACP Dashashwamedh Atul Anjan Tripathi stated that such acts are unacceptable and can create fear and confusion among the public. He emphasized that displaying weapons, or weapon-like objects, in public for the purpose of gaining views and followers on social media is a serious matter and will not be tolerated.
The police identified the individual after the video surfaced and subsequently arrested him. Authorities have reiterated their appeal to young people to use social media responsibly and avoid activities that may disturb public order or violate the law.
The incident serves as a reminder that actions performed for online popularity can have real-world legal consequences. Varanasi Police have warned that strict action will continue against individuals who engage in such reckless behavior.
