University applicants and enrolled students have different dates to check this week: a fresh examination-form extension in Gurugram, a cancelled supplementary examination in Uttar Pradesh, and admission windows opening in Delhi and Varanasi. Rajasthan has also reopened hostel applications.
Examination changes in Gurugram and Uttar Pradesh
Gurugram University's October 22 order extends course assignment and examination-form submission without a late fee to October 28 for its December odd-semester examinations. Hard copies must reach the Conduct Branch by November 3. The university listed the order on October 23.
The extension follows requests from university teaching departments and affiliated colleges about courses unavailable for assignment and form filling on Samarth. It continues the September 25 instructions for regular students. Under those instructions, institutions assign courses first and then submit examination forms. Students should therefore check completion with their department or college rather than assume that course assignment alone completes examination registration.
The underlying instructions say examination participation requires an online form and place responsibility for correct subjects on the institution. The new order changes submission deadlines; it does not announce December paper dates. This is separate from the previously reported re-appear form extension, which concerns students clearing earlier papers.
Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University in Lucknow has cancelled the Third Professional Part II supplementary examinations for the MBBS 2021 batch that were scheduled from October 22 to November 2. Its October 22 notice, numbered 19547, cites applicable National Medical Commission regulations and guidelines. The Controller of Examinations issued the short cancellation notice.
The one-page order does not supply replacement dates or identify the particular regulatory provision behind the cancellation.
Admission windows that opened on October 23
Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University has opened fresh registration and application corrections for its MBBS stray round from noon on October 23 until noon on October 27. Fresh choice filling closes half an hour later, at 12:30 pm on October 27. Its October 22 notification requires candidates to replace earlier choices: preferences entered in rounds one, two and three will not be used for this round.
Participation is for eligible NEET UG 2026 candidates. Those holding a seat through state or central counselling anywhere in the country are excluded, as are candidates allotted an IPU round-three seat who did not complete the post-allotment process. Registration without fresh choices is also insufficient. Applicants must check their category and region claims and upload the required supporting documents.
The university lists October 27 as the tentative result date and says the post-result procedure will be issued that day.
IIT (BHU), Varanasi opened online applications for its 2026-27 even-semester PhD intake at noon on October 23. The portal closes at 5 pm on November 9. Candidates should use the institute's programme-specific eligibility criteria and specialisation codes rather than treating this as the separate Banaras Hindu University admission process.
The published timetable places shortlisting notification by November 16 and tests or interviews between November 23 and 29, with department-wise dates. Admission offers, including the waiting list, are scheduled for December 4.
The portal requires applicants to preview and finally lock or submit their forms; entries cannot be changed after that step. No postal hard copy is required. Shortlisted applicants are notified through the portal, with departmental call letters sent by email. The institute says hostel accommodation will not be available, although house rent allowance will follow its norms. The timetable also sets December 14 as the deadline for online payment of the admission fee.
Rajasthan reopens hostel applications
The University of Rajasthan has reopened hostel admission and readmission applications from October 23 for students who missed the earlier process. Two October 21 orders, issued by its Chief Warden's Office, set October 25 as the online deadline and October 26 for submitting hard copies. The constituent-college notice limits the exercise to hostels where seats remain vacant.
The destination for paperwork depends on the application. For constituent-college hostel admission, hard copies go to the relevant college or hostel; readmission papers go to the hostel concerned. For postgraduate and law hostel admission, new applicants must submit hard copies to the Chief Warden's Office, while readmission papers go to the relevant hostel. Both notices direct students to the university's online admission portal, so completing the online application does not remove the separate hard-copy requirement.
