Two Dead in Hit-and-Runs Around Kherki Daula

GURUGRAM: Two men were killed and another injured in separate hit-and-run crashes around the Kherki Daula belt over roughly 72 hours, police said, with one fatal motorcycle crash near Rampura flyover late on Wednesday night.

In the most recent fatal case, carpenter Duresh Kumar, a resident of Kakrola village, was hit by an unidentified vehicle while riding near Rampura flyover around midnight on 24 September. His brother-in-law Pradeep told police that Duresh was returning from Manesar when the impact threw him off the bike. He died of his injuries. Police reached the spot after receiving information, shifted the body to the mortuary, seized the motorcycle, and registered an FIR under Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita sections dealing with rash driving and death by negligence against an unidentified driver.

Identity lag and a third crash

Earlier, 29-year-old Mansingh was killed after an unidentified vehicle hit him near Sharda Hospital on Tikli Road in Badshahpur on 18 September. Officers said his identity stayed unknown for five days. His elder brother identified him at the mortuary on 23 September after seeing a notice about an unidentified body in a newspaper.

The third case involved Rajvinay Raut, who was travelling from Kakrola village to his workplace in Sector 7, Manesar, around 6.30am on 22 September. He told police a Toyota Rumion hit his vehicle from behind. Medical notes recorded a deep lacerated wound and deformities near his right ankle, with abrasions on his chest and upper abdomen. He was first taken to Silver Streak Hospital in Sector 87 and later shifted to ESIC Hospital in Sector 9. After doctors declared him fit to give a statement, police recorded it and registered an FIR under relevant BNS sections on 24 September.

All three incidents sit on busy approaches feeding Manesar and Badshahpur traffic through the Kherki Daula catchment. In the two fatal cases, drivers remain unidentified. Investigators typically rely on CCTV pockets, witness accounts and vehicle debris when number plates are not recovered at the scene. For families, the Rampura midnight crash and the delayed identification of Mansingh underline how quickly a hit-and-run can leave both a body and a blank registration trail.

Police have not named any accused in the fatal cases. The Raut FIR names a Toyota Rumion based on the complainant's account, but recovery of that vehicle and its driver will decide how far that file moves. Until then, the three files remain separate: one identification completed late, one fresh midnight fatality, and one injury case brought on record once the injured man could speak.
