Search Intensifies for 33-Year-Old Missing in Ganga Near Shivpur

VARANASI: A search operation is being intensified for a 33-year-old man reported missing in the Ganga near Shivpur, where a strong current and elevated water level have made local rescue efforts difficult.

Police and residents searched the area after receiving information that the man had gone into the river and failed to return to the surface. The initial effort did not locate him. The National Disaster Response Force was expected to begin a more extensive operation using trained personnel and specialist equipment.
