VARANASI: Speaking in Varanasi, Aam Aadmi Party Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh made serious allegations against Champat Rai, the General Secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. Singh claimed that a Nazul land plot, which according to government records was valued at around ₹2.9 crore, was purchased for ₹24 crore.

According to the MP, the land, identified as Nazul property, could not legally be sold without being converted into freehold land. He alleged that the transaction caused a loss of public and donated funds and described it as an “800% markup.”

Sanjay Singh also referred to previous land deal controversies linked to the Ram Temple project, claiming that similar irregularities had been raised earlier. During the press conference, he presented documents that he said supported his allegations.

The allegations have sparked political debate, with Singh demanding accountability and transparency in land transactions linked to the Ram Temple Trust. No official response from Champat Rai or the Trust was immediately available regarding the latest claims.
