Man Escapes Armed Abduction Bid at Galleria

GURUGRAM: A 26-year-old man escaped an alleged abduction attempt after four armed men forced their way into his car at Galleria Market and told him they had been hired to kill him, police said.

Sahil Arora, a resident of Sushant Lok-1, had gone to the market for a coffee on the night of 21 September. When he returned to his car and was about to get in, four men entered the vehicle and displayed weapons, an officer said. They told him they had received an order to kill him. Sahil initially panicked, then drove off with the men still inside. Realising they could not control the car, the suspects jumped out and fled, leaving weapons on the front seat, according to the complaint.

Case under abduction and Arms Act

Sahil informed his family and the police control room. A Sector 29 police station team reached the spot and took the weapons into custody. Based on his complaint, police registered a case under Section 140(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, which covers kidnapping or abduction with intent to wrongfully confine, along with relevant Arms Act provisions. Officers said security has been provided to him.

Investigators are examining CCTV from cameras around Galleria Market and nearby stretches to identify the four men and map their movements before and after the incident. Police are also checking whether the weapons left behind were toy guns. Sahil and his family members are being questioned to see whether any prior dispute or enmity could explain the alleged contract claim.

The accused remain at large. For now, the file turns on the recovered weapons, market camera footage, and whatever motive probe emerges from the family's statements. Galleria Market sits on a busy Sector 29 retail strip; an attempted car entry there in the evening puts pressure on both the CCTV pull and the Arms Act examination before police name suspects.

Market CCTV will decide how quickly faces can be matched to the four men who fled. Officers are treating the left-behind weapons as both evidence and a clue to whether the threat was backed by real firearms or stage props. Either finding changes the Arms Act trajectory. Sahil's decision to drive rather than freeze is what ended the confrontation inside the car, but it also means the suspects dispersed into Galleria's evening crowd before a PCR van arrived. The security cover now around him is meant to buy investigators time while camera pulls and family interviews map any prior dispute that could explain a claimed murder contract.
